She sounds exactly like my boyfriend's aunt, who likes to say such things as 'So, Anne, I see both of your parents are fat. Are you going to get fat one day?' and (to our housemate, who she'd met 4 seconds before) 'How long do you plan on living here? You can't live with your friends forever, you know.' Uhhh. Wow.

Ladyfriend sounds like another name for ToM!  :P :-X

I know several men who use "ladyfriend" when referring to women who won't be a... um... long-term fixture in their lives. ;)

I tend to think small children are cute with glasses.  When I go to the eye doctor, I get a kick out of seeing the tiny eyeglass frames for them.  Some are really adorable!

And that's the kind of thing that's going to make her hate her glasses and whine about needing them when she's old enough to understand what people are saying.  jerks!

Me too, which is why Tim using it is so weird.  *shrug* He says he doesn't mean anything by it and just didn't feel comfortable calling me a "girl" when I'm clearly not.

My pet hate is when men refer to looking after their own children as "babysitting".  To me, babysitting is when you look after someone else's children, not your own!

Tell me about it. What is it when their mother does it? Oh right, it's her job. When the father does it, it's a favor.
If we called them Sad Meals, no one would buy them.

Exactly.  I find it deeply offensive.

Girl-ness is a state of mind ;).  It never bothered me when my now-DH used to call me his girlfriend.

The worst of the spouse/romantic relationship terms is "lady wife" (as in "The lady wife and I are buying a new car").  Sorry, but it beats all in cringe inspiring awfulness, even lovah.

One that grates on my nerves is when people use "sale" instead of "sell."

I belong to a forum where a very nice woman says she's "going to sale something."  She's also referred to the act as "saleing it."  I think someone once "saled" her something too.
