I don't like it when people call the system box of a desktop PC the "CPU" or "hard drive".

Referring to modular Ethernet connectors as "RJ45" plugs & jacks.   This misuse has become so widespread that even technical schools and manufacturers who should know better are guilty.

I must just add, that I'm not terribly crazy about people who say "freaking", and even less crazy about the abominable " frickin' " but I'll let it pass this time...  ;)

Oh, I'll never stop saying "freaking."  I'm not so much a frequent user of "friggin'," but I've been known to throw it out there on occasion. :)

Me too!  I say 'freaking' and 'frickin' all the time!

We're getting a lot of talk of "cross-fertilization" at work these days.  Worrying.

Sounds like you work in a plant nursery or something. Or perhaps a fertility clinic...

My least favorite thing to hear is "idiot". I instantly cringe. Friends used to tease me about being the politically correct police, but I can't help it. In my eyes it's never going to be funny and I just don't like to hear it.
I share your disgust for this one.

I used to be guilty of this one but I was young and didn't know conversate wasn't a word.

I really don't like when people use Gay when they are trying to say something is stupid...

Like "that's gay"  Drives me insane!

There is a new ad campaign in the US about this:

I am totally sick of everything having a 'stimulus'. Even my hairdresser had a March Stimulus offer.  ::)  I'm also sick of hearing people say, 'Well, in this current economic climate...'

Yeah. We know.

I'm getting sick of the phrase 'credit crunch'.  Especially when every restaurant has a 'credit crunch dinner' or shops have 'credit crunch sales'.  It's a bloody economic depression, stop sugar coating it just because 'credit crunch' has nice alliteration!

Oh, you'd love the restaurant near us that's having a "credit munch" 2 for 1 entree special on weeknights!  That's 2 for 1 on the cheesiness factor, too.
