I passed my theory test!!
« on: March 30, 2009, 01:47:00 PM »
Oh my God!

I thought for sure I would fail -- I didn't think my old brain could hold onto new information anymore, lol! I  hate to say, I didn't even really do the most part of my studying until last night -- I basically crammed on the questions/correct answers, and tried to get as much into my head and then hope for the best. But I passed this morning with only one wrong answer !!!! Yay, gulp, whew!!!!! :D

Next up, practical....I'm going to catch my breath a bit and feel good before I tackle that one, hah! Man, I'm so relieved though, so far so good...

Yay - well done!  :)  Did you take the Hazard Perception Test today as well?

Congrats!  How long did you study?  Did you get an instructor?

Thanks everyone!

Mrs Robinson, yep, it included the hazzard perception test -- man I nearly fell asleep, hah hah! There were 14 clips of these nice little country roads, mostly, driving quite slowly, and about halfway through, the gentle pace and the scenery almost made me stop concentrating on the hazzards! I had been nervous but the whole thing wasn't bad at all.

Karrit, yeppers again; I've had an AA instructor for about ten lessons mostly to get me used to London conditions and get some practice/brush up on the "right" way to do the test manoevers, etc.

I'm taking the easy way out and doing it all in an automatic, even though many years ago when I was a kid, I first learned on a manual, and I passed my US test in a manual also. But after years driving automatic in the US, meh, I'm making this time around as low in the stress factor as I can, lol!

Congrats to you.  I just passed my theory test this afternoon too!  I am excited about it.  I felt like i was 15 all over again trying to get a learners permit.  I did take a lot of time in studying for the test.  Off and one since last fall.  I was so afraid of not doing very well on the hazard perception.  If anyone reads this and has not taken the theory test, take your time in studying for it.  Dont let your spouse or driving teacher bully you.  Do it for you.  Get the dvd with practice questions and the clips of the hazard perception.  You will do.  Awful that the test costs 30 pounds.  The result of your theory test is good for 2 years.  Getting ready for this test was like taking a college final!  It is a great feeling and a big obstacle out of the way before getting a drivers licence here.  I wish anyone that has to do this all the best.  You can do!!!

Kfleet, congratulations!! It is a great feeling isn't it? Nice to get this hurdle out of the way -- one down, one to go.  :)
