Moving company from West Coast to UK
« on: April 03, 2009, 08:34:15 PM »
Hiya

Trying to find a reputable moving company from Oakland/San Francisco to the UK.  We're totally down to have things shipped, and to do whatever we can ourselves to lower the cost. We have the contents of a small 1 bedroom house to move.

Any thoughts would be helpful.

Sorry if this repeats an earlier thread.

Actually, I'd been wondering about this myself, except I'd be coming from San Diego.

Still not sure if I'm moving out there yet (but we should know very soon if my bf has an interview or not with British Schools over here... if not, then I go there!).

I wouldn't have very much stuff at all, as I can replace all my furniture, really. But I have a bunch of books and arts supplies and artwork and some fragile things.

Hello,

We are also looking to ship from East Bay area to East Yorkshire.  We are in the research stage at the moment and have so many questions.

Does anybody have any ideas on where to start in this area of California?

Thank you for your help!

Dave and Jenni

We have just moved from Texas to East Yorkshire, been here one month now. We used Suddath/Senrtry - they were wonderful. From packing up our two bedroomed house in Texas to arriving here was 4 weeks and no damage at all. The guy we dealt with was Michael Renzella, they are nationwide. Give them a call and ask them to come and give you a quote.

Hi there,

I've been doing research for moving companies from California to Glasgow and found EXPORT SHIPPING CO. - website is newcomer link: http://www.exship.com [nonactive] .

They offer all services including packing your belongings, or you can actually do it all yourself and deliver it to the port in San Francisco which is a lot cheaper. They can give you a quote by e-mail with general pricing. If you deliver yourself you are charged by the cubic meter. If they come and pick up your things, then you are charged by weight.

I wasn't planning on taking a lot of things home with me, but you can also pay for a container to fit all your household belongings in - even vehicles. Good information on the website.. hope this helps some of you out
