Any Seders going on this week???
« on: April 07, 2009, 10:22:52 PM »
Happy Pesach to anyone celebrating this week!

I want to live vicariously though other people as I have a tummy bug and seder is out for me this week. I might have to celebrate Passover on Easter weekend...so tell me, what are you cooking?

However, some chicken soup and kneidels might be on the menu...

We're skipping it this year as everyone is either sick or out of town.  I may make some charoset anyway, as it's my favorite part. ;D

I'm doing my best to hold one! No one coming is Jewish (and I'm not really, either... it's a long story) so I'm trying to make it interesting and fun!

We used to do a HUGE seder every year (14+ people) for our friends, and not a single one was Jewish.  It was always a blast!

Same here, but this morning I have decided to make some Matzoh Ball soup...however, I just realised I have no Matzoh Meal! Off to Asda soon...

You can buy matzo meal at your local ASDA?  :o

I had to get it here at the speciality deli, after one of their employees took a special trip to London for Passover stuff.

My Asda has a small Kosher section, along with lots of different ethnic foods...I thought this might be the norm in Asdas, but I live in Manchester, so we have a Jewish population.

AHA. Yeah, I'd assume the Jewish population in Oxford is fairly small, and that a lot of it is centred at the university.

I bought some in Sainsburys. It's just sitting in my pantry waiting for me to get motivated. I should give it to you, racheeeee. :) You'll make something delicious out of it.

And if you threw a party
Invited everyone you knew
You would see the biggest gift would be from me
And the card attached would say
"Thank you for being a friend!"

Actually, I would, but husband doesn't like them and I probably shouldn't have them. :(

What is wrong with him? Matzoh ball soup is awesome!!!   Yum yum!   Now I want some.

I used to go this awesome Jewish diner (family run, a rare thing these days down there!) in Miami that had some of the best food I've ever tasted.

Are you kidding, I LOVE matzo balls. But I have no self control. If husband won't help, I'll eat them all. In one sitting. I won't even wait for the soup.

Anyone making kugel?
I refuse to answer that question on the grounds that I don't know the answer.
