Awww... you will be here soon! In the meantime, get yourself a roasted chicken, some mash, and lots of veg, top it all with gravy, and see if that makes you feel better.  ;)

Yeah I think I might drown my sorrows in food. I am so stressed out this morning it's that or take my clothes off and run through the streets screaming! lol

Hmmmm.... well, sometimes being nekkid in the street makes you feel better... lol... but I vote for food! Go to the supermarket and see if you can find something in the international food section like McVitie's Digestives or HP sauce. I used to do that when I was missing DH or missing the UK in general.

I actually am going to look into a British food market or go eat at a good pub we have in SF. The HP sauce freaks me out though. I went and bought a Costco sized A1 yesterday so I could ship it over. I looked at the prices on some of the websites that wil ship you American foods and thought "Oh Hell no" haha.

You poor thing! You can cook a good roast in the US, you can buy everything to make a roast dinner from scratch! Give it a go!

LOL! I don't think of HP as steak sauce, I never use it on steak. I really love it actually. You should try it on a bacon and egg sandwich or on some fish and chips. It rocks! I guess it's mostly like malt vinegar, which I hate, but for some reason I just love HP. Hmph...
Yeah, it is expensive to order from the sites, but well worth it, I suppose, for the occasional bout of homesickness. Unfortunately, they don't usually have the things I am homesick for (which is very little, and becoming less all the time) and my mom sends me care packages once in a while (mainly she just stuffs a few things in for me with the gifts she sends us for birthdays and holidays, etc.)
Just don't do what I did - I packed probably 25 pounds worth of American foods in my suitcase when I moved and found out many of them were already available here, anyway, and some of the others I haven't even used. For example, I brought Betty Crocker brownie and choc chip cookie mix, Bisquick, and Nature Valley Granola Bars, which were all available here. I also brought loads of ranch dressing packs and Jello instant pudding, which are still sitting in the cupboard 9 months later. And of course, there are many other things I wish I had brought (Butterfinger bars, strawberry Pop-tarts, and flavoured oatmeal), but I guess that's the way it goes!  Also, as someone else said, sometimes the things you bring, you feel you have to save them for a special occasion or something, like they're too precious to be eaten, and then later realize they have gone bad just sitting there!

I got garlic salt, the A1, taco seasoning, american relish, ranch packets, italian packets, and cornbread mix. Big Costco sizes on the first three and I mostly got the cornbread mix for my FMIL cus I love her and want her to try it.

All my stuff is packed lol. I'm living out of a small suitcase now until the 24th and it wouldn't be the same as hers. Thanks for your confidence in my cooking though  ;D
