And I've never actually seen any nipples or chest hair through shirts that were worn without undershirts so it's not something that has ever occurred to me :P.

I'm trying hard to imagine the sort of uber-nipples a man would have to have to show right through a shirt!  :o

I guess a white dress shirt springs to mind. Some are just sheer enough I suppose. ???
When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy’. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life. ~ John Lennon

Yeah, those. White dress shirts are the only kind of shirts DH wears an undershirt for, cause they are a bit too transparant in the right light. My dad wears them, so does my father in law. Most of my male American friends wear them never or hardly ever. Def seems like a generational thing.

And I'm 30, and Magnum was yum. I find well groomed chest hair on a man attractive. Not so keen on back hair though.

Anyone else is gonna feel a little more self concious out in public now knowing that there are people out there judging their foundation garments?
And if you threw a party
Invited everyone you knew
You would see the biggest gift would be from me
And the card attached would say
"Thank you for being a friend!"

 ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

This thread is cracking me up!!

I don't think I've ever actually looked at strange men's shirt habits closely, but now I'm going to have walk around trying not to.  :-\\\\

Am I a freak to say that if I'm in love and adore my guy, I can find it in me to tolerate back hair too?!  :o

It's one of those things that are "Ew!" on paper, but if you love someone, it all becomes part of it, if you see what I mean. Oh God now I'm a freak!!  ;D

You are not a freak!  Or if you are, so am I.   ;D  DH has a soft little tuft of back hair that I adore.  But if you'd asked me before I met him, I'd probably have said back hair was a no-can-do.

My husband doesn't wear white shirts.  He's too big.  They make him look like a giant.  And just weird.  So maybe that's why I never noticed.  But then I never noticed on other people either.  I meant to have a good look when he got home from work but unfortunately it was 'casual Thursday'.  I will look on Tuesday though.  I'm going to look at everybody now.  It'll be my new obsession.

Whew!!! I'm not the only one!  [smiley=mad.gif]

It's so true -- if you had to fill out a form listing your ideal physical requirements, these things are probably something you'd say a big NO to: "Back hair instantly disqualifies all candidates, thanks for trying!"  ;D......But if you meet someone/know someone and love them for them and then it turns out they've got.......little tufts.... [smiley=laugh4.gif]

I don't know....I just find hairiness sexy....in someone I'm already attracted to anyway.  :)

I would have thought it was a generational thing too, but DS (late 20s) has just gone out and bought 2 packs of Hanes white undershirts.  He hasn't worn them since he was a tot.  ???

DH wears a t shirt with his white shirts.  He is quite hairy, but I think he does it more to prevent sweat stains.  He is quite picky about his white shirts though...they must be 100% cotton.  No polyester.  No string vests either.
And yes, he has back hair..quite a bit of it.  It doesn't bother me.  It is what is on the inside that counts.

I am a light colour shirt undershirt wearer...  It has to be the chest hair thing... I really can't stand seeing mine or others chest hair through a formal oxford shirt and beleive me, I have seen some.

Also, I will tend to wear an undershirt in winter, mostly because I am not fond of heavy coats.

Yep, this is why my husband wears them too. He also hates heavy coats, and will only wear a coat on the coldest days. Otherwise, it's an undershirt, shirt, and maybe a sweater underneath his suit.
