My Spousal Visa Was Approved!! Now what? lol
« on: April 10, 2009, 12:05:31 PM »
First of all, I'd just like to thank all of those who helped me answer my MILLIONS of questions over the last year or so.  I had many MANY questions about things, and Garry, Vicky, Devin, Chi, and all my Sappy Movie ladies (whom I adore!) were there to help me along the way.  There are a few others as well, so if I didn't mention you above, PLEASE don't think I have forgotten you.....I appreciate it all.

Soooooo.....now I'm just wondering what else I'll need besides my visa to have a smooth entry into England.  My husband and I are planning on flying back by the end of next week.  According to my courier (which, btw, if you have to file you're application with the Chicago consulate, PLEASE use ExpertVisa...they were awesome and only charged me $50!) I don't need anything else, but I seem to remember reading somewhere that I'll need to show a copy of the marriage certificate upon entry.  JUST want to verify everything.

Again, thank you to everyone who helped me out.  You have NO idea how much I appreciate it. :)

You need nothing else but your smiling face and your visa. When I arrived last year the IO just looked at my visa, asked if my husband was in arrivals waiting for me (I was travelling alone), I said yes, he looked at me and at my visa once more and stamped me in and said 'welcome home'.

Yea! Hope your trip goes smoothly...Congratulations!

Wow, that was incredibly quick methinks, congrats :) I can only keep my fingers crossed that mine will be the same :P But I don't think you'll need anything special to get in, just your visa, so you're good to go.

Soooo.....we're leaving to England on Wednesday here...just a small update.

Buuuttt....what I was wondering was, since we FINALLY went through the supporting evidence binder last night, we noticed that some things were missing from it.  Is that normal?

(Like, they kept our letters, the certified copies of my husband's passport, etc).  Basically anything we DIDN'T say we wanted back, they kept.  That's normal, right?

They returned all of our documents, phone records, emails, bank statements and the lot. Not sure why they would keep anything.  ???

Anyway, good luck on your new life in UK and congrats!!!  ;D

It is normal for them to keep documents which were generated purely for the visa application.
