I am so clueless with the speak that the kids are down with 2day.

You and I are about the same age, I think. It's just you probably don't have friends so dorky that they use "LOL" in VERBAL conversations. ;D
And if you threw a party
Invited everyone you knew
You would see the biggest gift would be from me
And the card attached would say
"Thank you for being a friend!"

One of my really good friends has a 16 year old daughter and all her texts are in text speak...its so funny. However my husband and I are love to talk to each other in text speak (you know, I am lmao, OMG etc...) we are dorks (who love Costco to keep to the thread)

:-[ My husband and I occasionally speak lolcat.

I love Costco too, btw. I'd get a membership already but it's really not practical without a car and we don't have one right now. If we ever do, though, I'll get a US Costco membership first thing.

Better to get (or renew) US membership anyway.  It's cheaper, and you won't be able to join Costco here unless you're one of the lucky few with an approved profession as membership is restricted here.  We renew our US one every year because of this.
I refuse to answer that question on the grounds that I don't know the answer.

IS this not FTW?!?!!? I'm on my parents Account here so yay. I don't know what location is closest to Devon though. Do they have american cupcakes in the bakery? That is one thing that has made me sad. I HATE "Fairy cakes", at least the ones I've had so far.

The closest Costco to Devon would be the same one I would go to being that Cornwall is the county west of Devon before you drop off the country and into the sea  ;D

Bristol would be the closest according to their locations.  It would be awesome if they opened one in Plymouth.

Guess I'll be renewing my membership in June then and keeping up with it.  YAY !!!!!!!!!

It's been a while since I had to deal with this, but when I first came to the UK, yes, they accepted my US Costco card. But I had to pay cash. No cheques or debit cards without a local account. I did that for a while, and at some point they told me they would give me a UK account free for the first year. So I got that and was able to pay with devices other than cash. Plus I get the mailed coupons and stuff now.

That's odd.  It's only last year we were told that we can renew and use our US account in UK locations, but can't have a UK one.  And they've always let us pay with debit.

We started off with a US card (they always had to call for SUE!) but now we have a UK one, and they send us a letter every year, and we always renew by debit right at checkout.  I would ask them about your card if you are having problems.

You can renew online too on the Costco USA site.

I'm curious about the Executive Club membership now being offered over here. I wonder if a US Executive Club membership would work? Will have to send off an email.

How long ago did you get your UK card?  They told us they have to limit membership due to competition laws for wholesalers (pressure from Tesco, etc.) so you can only join if you're on their list of professions.  Is this new and did you get in before they brought it in I wonder?  We got our info from UK central office last year.  Would be nice to have a UK card if things have changed since we were told this.

Does anyone happen to know if they regularly stock BreatheRights? They're so ridiculously expensive but they really help my allergies at night so I'd like to just bite the bullet and stock up!

Well, its been about 10 years since we started using our Costco card, so we may have had a UK card for 6 years, maybe.

I didn't look for them today, when I was there, but I've bought them at the Reading Costco in the past.
