J still hasn't told his parents, due to his mum still having issues with me... we need to approach all of this delicately with her.

That's so great, pb! Congrats! And don't worry about MIL... I think she'll come around to you eventually. Frankly, how could she not? You're absolutely lovely. :D

Oh well, my MIL had some serious problems with DH marrying me and bringing me over from the US. They didn't get the online meeting thing, they felt like we barely knew each other even though we talked every day on webcam for hours. The arguments were a nightmare for him. But now that I am here and they have gotten to know me and what a (ahem) fantastic person I am, they are nice as nine-pence!!   :P  I'm sure she will come around once she realizes how much you truly love and care about her son. And if she doesn't, then it's her loss, as I am sure her bitterness would be more likely to drive a wedge between her and her son, who is obviously very happy with you!
