Hehehe - Who's getting married in 2010??

Congrats phatbeetle!  I am so excited for you!  It seems like it all happened so fast--from meeting each other to engagement--but that's how it seemed for me and my hubby, too....sometimes you just *know*!

What you've got planned for the ceremony so far sounds beautiful, too!

What loch is it out of curiosity?  I used to live next to a quiet small loch so I wonder if its the same one.

It sure is beautiful on a gorgeous day, however, I suppose in the summer, on said gorgeous day- its not that peacefull!  But hey, I don't mind all the walkers and bikers and tourists crashing my wedding  

Thanks Chary.  We are just in thoughts right now on everything- but we're thinking a small gathering in late summer-early fall next year, in Scotland, on the shores of a beautiful, peaceful loch not far from where we live.  We'll need to find some place just as gorgeous for the inveitable rain however...
J's boss is a piper and has his own ceilidh band, so we're all set with music for the reception!  I'm going to use my musical connections with the groups I play with to pull together something for the ceremony 

We're then thinking of a party in Massachusetts either later next year or the year after for those who can't make the treck to Scotland. 

Wow that sounds beautiful! Whenever I think of getting married, I always envision it at a church, but your idea sounds awesome! I want to get married in a special place like that.

Though I'm likely to be the only disappointed bride in this thread, I now have to move here from the 2009 thread. We just had to face facts this week and recognise that there's no physical way for us to be married on 19 September 2009 if I'm only getting out of hospital from my BMT in mid-July and not even able to go out in public in September. So we need to ring the venue and plead with them to allow us to change the date to Sept 2010 and hope they'll take compassionate pity on us and not make us forfeit the 2 grand deposit. *sigh* "Our day" will no longer be "our day". It'll just pass like any other day now and be someone else's day.

Aww squirrellypoo, that just sucks.  If the venue won't give you your money back or let you move it to a later date, they just deserve to be bad mouthed and shamed!!!!!!!  You may need to postpone "your day", but "your new day" will be even better

Awwww, why not take your vows that day, then have the ceremony the following year on the same day for your one year anniversary? Then it will still be your day!
