RIP Simon Channing Williams

Simon Channing Williams, the British film producer best known for his long-running collaboration with Mike Leigh, has died age 63.

I knew he produced Secrets and Lies and The Constant Gardener, but didn't know that he lived here in Penzance. I only found out today because a friend emailed to tell me she's on the news here tonight talking about him. She's involved in the British Federation of Film Societies, as well as our local film society, and knew him quite well. He was a big supporter.
