Britian's Got Talent -Amazing singer
« on: April 15, 2009, 04:05:57 PM »

We don't get this show here but I saw a blurb on the news about this lady.... she's amazing and not only because Le Miz is one of my all time favorite shows!

Ooh, I love to see Simon Cowell floored.  It's like that bit with the opera singer guy from the first season that they made into a T-mobile commercial--I'm ashamed to say I got a bit damp around the eyes whenever that came on.

I was watching that online yesterday and the bf said scornfully, "You're not crying, are you?!"

Me:  "Um ... no ... blubber ... sniffle ... of course not."

Yeah, she was amazing, and it was funny to see everyone so shocked, you could tell they didn't take her seriously until she started singing. I love Les Miz, too!!!!

Proves to me how the so called singers of today are mostly about looks and not talent.  This woman clearly has talent -- a natural born one.  I'm glad she shut everyone up, she took the sneers off their faces and left their mouths hanging open.

I wish her much success!

Yeah, I found that tidbit on youtube as well since I'm still here in the States--I was so surprised, and that was an amazing song :) And it was great to see Simon kinda speechless to an extent :P

I thought the audience was really rude. The camera panned on one young 20 something who was making a face and shaking her head and I thought, wow people can really be nasty. I don't watch the US version so I don't know if the audiences in the states make fun of less attractive people as well but either way its very sad.

On a positive note, wow was she great! :) I was so pleased for her! Like the Opera singing guy (amazing), it makes you wonder why it took so long for them to be discovered because both are truly amazing.

My very best wishes to her! :)

Thing is most of us with the right makeup, dress and styling can look a lot better, but you can't create that kind of talent.

I always like seeing "normal" people triumph.

What is funny is that she actually has a good sense of humour too... I like where she was saying she'd never been kissed but that it wasn't an advert either!

I think it's a testament to her talent that I happily watched the entire clip, considering I absolutely abhor Les Miserables!

I cried. Twice when I watched it. I felt so happy for her, and so did my kids who watched it with me.

I think that song is so much more powerful when someone her age does it.  Especially after she talked about her dreams.

I saw this on the morning news, and she's very talented.  Even my 19-year-old daughter heard it, came out of the bedroom and said, "She's really good."
