thank you - got unmarried visa

hi

i just received my residence permit card in the post today! i wouldn't have gotten it without the help and advice from people on this site. you guys are wonderful! thank you so much!

Congratulations on obtaining you visa!! That is great news! My visa is in the process right now...ahhh, I cannot wait until I finally receive the answer! My fiance is in London and I am really excited to be with him....soon!! =) Again, congrats!!

Congrats!!!! My application arrived at the consulate today, and I'm crazy nervous. :) I'm very jealous of you right now!
Finally living with my Husband in London after 6 1/2 years together but apart... and loving my life!

princess.... i was nervous too. really nervous. a wreck on the day. and i fancied myself a calm type person. at that point i just wanted an answer...good or bad. good luck to you and sofiegreen both!

I have one more day until I find out if I'm going to London or not!! ahhh. I cannot wait until this process is complete!  :)

Congrats on your unmarried visa. Did you and your partner live together for 2 years prior to applying...i.e were you on another type of visa and then transferred it to the unmarried visa? We were initially going to apply for the unmarried visa after being together for 2 years (we have been together 1year and 3 months) but it was made out to us that getting an unmarried visa is really hard to get if you are not already on a visa living together in the UK. We still would have to wait 9 months (and now we are planning to get married in Sept), but would love to know more about your situation. Feel free to PM me if you want so the rest of the forum isn't bothered :)

Was it?  many, if not most of my clients who apply for this visa have lived together overseas before applying.  Often in a combination of countries.
