My favorite pet name of late belonged to a cat one of my old coworkers had... Lunch Meat. When she had kittens we joked about how they were going to name them Bologna and Olive Loaf and things.

Roommate and I have two cats inherited from previous roommates of ours...

Xingu (a black cat named after another cat who was named after a brand of beer)
Ninkip (a brown tabby)

I forgot our (late) guinea pig.  She was named Deanna Troi -- or just Troi.  She had lovely brown eyes and flowing brown hair!

it's kind of fun to read all these cute pet names.

Milo makes me think of the kids' movie Milo and Otis, and that reminds me that I didn't think to put that movie on my recommended list for Abby Normal's son.

When my father-in-law suggested we name our guinea pig "Peregrine", I thought that was a great name for a guinea pig.

When a young woman, my mum had a white rat named Mickey.  Mickey lived in a skein of yarn in a basket by the stove.  When Mum would go to the movies she would take Mickey in her pocket!  Mickey would crawl up inside her sleeve and nestle at the back of her neck under her hair.  Mum was terrified that the lights might suddenly come on and the people sitting behind her would jump up screaming!  ;D
When I was little we had two white Pekin ducks named Donald and Daisy.  We got Donald first and didn't know much about sexing ducks so it turned out "he" was a she!  Boy ducks have curly tail feathers.

I'm really pretty unoriginal.  My dog's name is Jackson, because I got him in Jackson, MS. My mom had a cat named Chairman Meow when I was a kid because she thought he looked like Chariman Mao.  :D

Well, I was heavily into studying music growing up and in college so I named my pure black cat Treblecleff (call him Treble for short) and my grey and white Tabby is named Maestro. My cats came into my life way before my husband did. Dh has a named picked out for our dog when and if we ever get one.  To go along with the musical theme he wants to name the dog Ringo.  I'm totally for that!

We had a cat called GBH...It doesnt exactly roll off the toungue but unlike a dog, they dont take any notice of names anyway so it was more of an an identification than a name.
