Kitchenaid 6qt Pro Mixer

I got mine on Amazon.co.uk, and they sell them in all the department stores. They come with UK plugs already, and run on UK voltage.

What is the difference between the Artisanal one they sell in the UK and the Pro they sell in the US? Except the price.

From what I can see they both have 10 speeds, the UK one is a tilt head that lifts up, on my US on the head doesn't move/tily but the bowl gets lifted up and down with a handle.  I think the US one has more wattage/powerful motor and the bowl is a bigger capacity.

US = 525 watts and 6qt bowl (whatever that equates to in the UK)

From the ones I see, the Artisan has 300w and 5qt bowl. Does that make it really bad?

I don't think any kitchen aid mixer is bad!

I brought a kitchenaid mixer from the US and purchased a converter here in the UK.  It's a big honking thing but we wanted to be safe.  I also have a Kitchenaid food processor and THAT thing is a beast so we got the converter that was waaay more than we needed.  With almost $1k in just KA equipment I didn't want to blow one just because I was too cheap to spend £30 more the bigger converter cost.

My DH won't part with his Kitchenaid Food Processor so we are bringing that along as well.  What size transformer/voltage converter did you buy?  I figured we would only buy one to cover all our US Stuff as we won't be using them all at the same time. 

We are bringing our Electric Outdoor Smoker, my Flat Iron (not cheap, can't live without it), the Kitchenaid Mixer and Food Processor, his Yamaha Receiver for watching movies.  I think that is it........I think    None of this stuff will be used at the same time so I don't mind moving around a transformer as long as it isn't heavy.  I figured that the Flat Iron would need the most watts because of the heat but Babyliss won't tell me the wattage of my flat iron,  They even called me and still argued with me about taking my flat iron to another country etc....  Whatever............   I can't believe the flat iron would need more a few thousand watts.

BTW Mort.................all Kitchenaid stuff is great, you can't go wrong with any of it.
