Oooh, I'll join you Jewlz! I already walk to work, but I think I should add in a 30 minute higher intensity something, and I would love to have someone to keep track with.  I think it would really help. Plus, maybe this way I can convince DH that we need a dog for my health! ;D

Hehehe... good thinking! Ok then! Yay! I will start tomorrow morning, how about you? I plan to do the thirty minute morning walk on weekday mornings at 7am. I usually ride my bike or take a long walk on the weekends, anyway, so I should be all set there.  :)

Good idea Jewlz. My dog would love me for it!

I've lost 1 pound so far this week and have a new favourite food item - BACOS!  I cannot believe that all this time I didnt know they werent real bacon.  I'm a vegetarian, but have always loved the taste of bacon, so I feel like I am being naughty eating a salad with little bits of bacon, but really is a healthy lunch with bacon flavoured soy bits!  Hooray all the way around.  Even if its only fun for a week, thats one week of eating healthier!

I'm also on the lookout for a pilates video as it seems to be the only form of exercise that I dont hate with every fiber of my being.  Anyone have any good intermediate ones?

Oooh, I will start tomorrow at lunch (add in another 1/2 hour of exercise).  I like the idea of those bacos on salad. Hmmm. This could work! (I have to go to a wedding in Sri Lanka in July and would like to look smokin'.  ;D)

Yay! Let's do it! We have to keep motivating each other!

Mirrajay, I don't have any pilates videos, but I do have a bellydancing video that is really fun. Sounds a bit corny, and I guess it is a bit silly, but it works great. You don't feel like you are working out very hard at all because its low impact and fun, but you can tell a difference in your body. It's a great way to get a bit of exercise when you hate exercising (I know I do!) The one I have is Dolphina's Bellydancing for Beginners, I think. It's definitely worth a try if you want something relaxing and low key, but good for gently toning muscles.

Someone else's wedding is great incentive isnt it?  I have a wedding to go to at the end of June and feel SO ick and plain compared to all the girls I know will be there.  Even losing 5-10 lbs before then would help my confidence greatly, I am sure.  (stupid skinny, trendy, cute, rich girls!)

Oh bellydancing -  that could be fun Jewlz, I'll look for it!

If you have an iPhone, I just downloaded the Nike Woman's Training app.  It's great and there is a pilates section.  The first time I did it; I was sore for DAYS.  It's a bit buggy, but good.
I like the Rael Isacowitz pilates videos.  They're all on Amazon I think.

You can definitely lose 5-10 lbs by the end of June. I have total faith in you! ;D I lost 10 pounds in 5 weeks just by counting my calories and not exercising at all. Now I want to lose about ten more pounds and tone up at the same time, just so I can look good in my summer clothes (if it's hot enough to wear any of them!  :P)

I am with you all! After gaining too much from being here and vacation I re-joined sparkpeople.com today AND I downloaded all of the PX90 videos!

I am starting with the cooking and eating part and will add in a 20-30 min vid at least 2 times a week to start.

My a$$ needs to start moving and get fit as I have never been as heavy as I am ;-)
GOAL: lose 20 pounds to start

Julia we could walk to each others house lol

I need to check is sparkpeople is on iphone as that would be so much easier for me!

I can't afford to go to pilate classes right now (which I highly recommend for awesome results). Pittpanther used to be more active on here and she's a certified pilates instructor. I asked her for her opinion on pilate videos and she said anything by Stott Pilates is good. I have the Core Challenge DVD and it's good if you have done pilates before as it moves through the movements fairly quickly and without much instruction.

I'll join on the 30 minute walk but may do a 30 minute workout instead.  I just ordered this video... the reviews were spot on

As for pilates I really really like Denis Austin's videos but not sure if they sell them outside of zone 1.

Careful... that dvd is far harder than it looks. I did the workout on Tuesday morning and I am still having trouble walking! (And I started with the first workout and did the beginner mods!) It's very intense!

I didn't walk the dog this morning, but I did go for a 30 minute walk yesterday after work and plan to do the same tonight after work. I'm still so sore and stiff in the morning that I couldn't bring myself to do that just yet. ;)

Julia we could walk to each others house lol

Haha... It would take me all week to do that, as sore as I am at the minute!  :P

I've lost about 15lbs since I got here just through walking everywhere. (Yay! And go figure, going from walking 1/4mi a day max to walking a minimum of 2mi a day has a big effect.)

I still want to lose about 10-15 more, though, so I'm trying to get back into running. Successfully ran on Friday and Saturday, was too sore to contemplate it Sunday and Monday, and Tuesday/Wednesday I was lazy. :( Not such a great start, I guess.

I also have the Insanity DVDs, which I remember trying and really being sore from, so I should bust those out (though finding free floor space to do them will be tricky!).

I randomly got a pedometer as a "free gift" for a granola bar I bought this morning ( I know...weird), so I'm adding that to the mix as well.  Am going for my walk around 1:30ish and am also horseback riding for an hour tonight.

I first read your post as... "I randomly got a pedicure as a ..." I was thinking... what does that have to do with this thread :-p

I figured that would be the case and that the first week I would be hurting.  Do you plan on continuing to use it?

That Jillian Michaels video KILLED me.  I normally like the sore feeling after excersise, but this was terrible. I am not planning on doing it again! I am far too out of shape for her, I think :)  I ordered a pilates video last night, and actually cant wait to get it and try it out.
