Well done Shugga!  It sounds like you've really taken a moderate and healthy approach to weight loss.  [smiley=2thumbsup.gif]

I've been kinda bummed out lately, so my lovely mother offered to get me a membership to a gym with a pool. We ended up at the YMCA (I couldn't let her spend the extortionate monthly fee at the Swim and Racquet around the corner) and I actually really like the facility.

I swam for about 30 minutes and it totally kicked my butt.  I like the class selection too, I'm taking Bollywood Dance on Wednesday.

I dropped off but got back into it this week and can I say, my legs are SORE! But glad to be back into it, though I haven't made working out part of my lifestyle yet so fingers crossed that I can hold my will and continue to set time aside each day for a workout :-)

I did my 30 Day Shred video today. I haven't done it in ages and I need to get back on the wagon!

I bought mine weeks ago but wasn't doing it.  I started it this week, how about we keep it up together?  I have done 3 workouts to it this week and plan on one more (I will be in Norway over the weekend).  Let's push each other :-)

Sure! I think I may try to do mine at least three days a week. I need to mix it up with walking/jogging and my fit ball. I need to have variety or I get really bored.

I had my dietitians apt on Fri afternoon I lost another 6 lbs since last time I saw her since I started seeing the dietitians I have lost a total of 51 lbs Yeah!!  ;D  [smiley=2thumbsup.gif]  I have another 33 lbs to lose before our trip home in Nov hopefully I can lose it all by then!!  ;)  :)

WOW!  :o Way to go, Shugga, that's fantastic!  ;D [smiley=2thumbsup.gif]

Soooo, I'm back!  ;D

I am starting my diet again today. I'm also three weeks nicotine-free!  ;D I definitely enjoyed the month of freedom, though I don't want to make things harder on myself by gaining too much weight, so I'm back to counting up my calories and eating healthier and I plan to start exercising a bit more and ease myself into a routine now. Already I have been more active by just walking the dog a bit longer and doing a lot more cleaning (who am I? :P) and I'm feeling so much better. Plus the weather has been unbelievably fantastic! I have more energy, and I've really been enjoying being able to smell things. I cleaned the car and the house super squeeeaky clean while I was on holiday, so everything smells and looks so good now!

I set myself up for success by making a yummy pasta salad for my lunches for the next few days (not wholewheat pasta, though, unfortunately, just what I had on hand) with penne in a sundried tomato and red pepper pesto with feta cheese and olives, and I started out with my favourite breakfast - Greek yoghurt with honey and pecans. Dinner tonight is beef burritos (I manage to make them for only 400 calories each and they are huge.)  So I'm starting the week off right and ready to rock!  ;D I haven't weighed myself and don't plan to for a while, I'm just hoping to equalize the month of indulgence before I worry about actually losing.  :)

I took a Bollywood Dance Class tonight. Umm, wowza- I'm going to be sore for days.  And so much fun.  I'm totally sticking with this one.  :)

Has anyone else read that swimming is bad for weight loss?  I've read this, and it makes me feel a little concerned since I swim so much for cardio.  ???

I've heard the opposite! The only difference can be, swimming often builds up muscle mass over your whole body so your "number" can go up, but you'll look slimmer and more toned and that is only a good thing! You're also building up your lung capacity...BUT...for some reason swimming makes you really hungry and lots of people over indulge after a swim, just make sure you have healthy snacks on hand.

Thanks for that.  I don't think I'd quit even if it did cause weight gain, as it makes me so calm and happy.  :)  I'm trying to eat as much bulk (salads, cruciferous veg, fruit etc.) to fill the void all the cardio I'm doing is making in my stomach.  Does anyone have any suggestions for foods that fill you up when you're hungry ALL the time?

There's nothing quite like these - http://www.brancrispbread.com/ you can get different brands,  but they're basically bran crisp breads, put some low fat cream cheese or cottage cheese, cucumber or cherry tomatoes or whatever on the top and they fill you right up for HOURS :)  They need something wet with them as they're a bit dry, so maybe fat free mustard. You can also melt some low fat cheese on the top under the grill :)

I've been doing pretty good with my exercise this week! Mon, Wed, and Fri (well, scheduled!) I do my 30 day shred video. Tues I walked for 4.5 miles and I'm getting ready to do a fit ball routine. Foodwise I haven't done too bad either!
