Well, I put on half a stone over the hols, but have lost it less than a week later, just through regular eating routine.

It's the final crunch of assignments in this household, so can't wait to get back to the gym when it's all over!

Congrats to you Mrs MLG of getting your weight off already from your vacation  ;)  ;D  I usually put on half a stone when were in the States on vacation as well but sadly it takes me alot more than a week of regular eating & a weeks worth of gym it get it off.  ::)  :P

I have been to the gym everyday this week including this afternoon & Sunday its been balls to the wall this whole week so I can have a good weight loss at the Dietitans this afternoon.  ;)  ;D  I'm taking the weekend off possibly Monday as well from the gym to recoup I'm well knackerd.

Well, I put on half a stone over the hols, but have lost it less than a week later, just through regular eating routine.

Heh - after our week in Northumberland, I was thoroughly disgusted with myself - mostly because I probably drank my entire reasonable allowance of units in alcohol for a whole month (or possibly more) during the week we were up there...(needed something for coping - too much togetherness with the in-laws for a week ;)).

So I am sort of making a half-hearted effort now to get some of this weight off - hoping to gain momentum as I go along.  Just focused on healthier eating this week & NO alcohol.  Can't remember the last time I had chocolate - which is almost unheard of!  (And strangely enough, I'm not craving it.)  Lol!  In any case, I appear to have lost 5 pounds of bloat which is a start I guess.

I want to stay off the alcohol as much as possible for much of the rest of the summer, except there will be some tonight when we go out & there is a spare bottle of cider left in the fridge that is calling my name.  But apart from that, hopefully not much until we go away together in mid-August for a long N Yorks beach weekend.

DH and I were discussing joining our nearest gym (the one Mr Andee goes to) for us to go together - except that our work schedules are so different...  We couldn't go together in the mornings because I'm leaving for work at 7 am just as he's getting up.  I'm home in the evening by about 5 and DH not until 6-6:30 pm, which if we then went to the gym together, we'd end up eating even later than we normally do - which is usually late already.  Boo.  Not sure how to resolve that & neither of us are keen on the gym so the idea in joining was to inspire/motivate/cajole each other to go by going together.  :-\\\\

Mr MLG calls it 'holiday bloat'! I also had wine excesses, but only 'cause I enjoy my food and wine too much!  ;D

I also am avoiding alcohol, but with cupcakes in the house, I am doubtful that I'll be avoiding chocolate!   :P

Shugga, sounds like you have been working hard!

My tummy bug has led to weight loss - a method I would not recommend!   :(

I can't wait to feel well enough to go back to the gym.

I'm not sure I'd call a half of anything a weight gain, PB. Go easy on yourself - it's been a hard week for you.  :)

I'm just hanging on the sidelines of this thread for a while yet, but I'm glad to see everyone is doing well. Hopefully I will start feeling better so I can keep focusing on my goals.  Right now, I'm hungry all the time, I don't know if it's because I'm bored of sitting around doing nothing, or because of the antibiotics (I actually tend to eat more if my stomach feels a bit queasy.)
