Pandora is a jewlery brand. They are best known for their charm bracelets, like the on on the upper left corner of this page:  http://www.pandora.net/en-US/jewellery

Ta.  :) I want one that has certain charms on it, one is a suitcase, one is a teacup and saucer, one is a wedding cake, etc.,, so basically, it would tell the story of how DH and I met and how I moved to England, etc.  [smiley=heart.gif]

My friend and I are joining Curves. I'm actually not a huge fan (I like to see dudes in the gym!), but they have a really good introductory offer on right now. I try videos and working out on my own, but the flat out truth is: I need organized exercise. The gyms here are so crap and have these astronomical joining fees (seriously, 550 euro at one of the better ones!). So, we'll see how this goes. It's only a 6 week commitment if I don't like it!

I know the gym prices are crazy here!!  :o  we pay for a year membership an it costs us nearly £400 pounds an my gym is a leisure center run by the counsel.  [smiley=blank.gif]  I like having guys in my gym cause I like watching what weights they lift & an asking them questions about what muscle they are working on using that specific weight surprisingly they don't have a problem with me asking them questions either.  ;)  :)  I ask mainly cause I want to know for whenever I have a new routine I can suggest it to my trainer if I want to work on that certain muscle I asked about.

OK...I'm officially joining the club next Monday (giving myself the rest of this week/weekend to psych myself up)!  Can't do a calorie/fat restrictive diet (which is what works best for me) because I'm breastfeeding...but I am going to start eating uber healthy again (have been indulging on the chocolate and cake and crisps and greasy, fried foods while pregnant).  Feeling well enough to go for a walk every day now too so I'm going to slowly start adding in some light exercise.  Hoping to be able to start the gym (bleh!  I HATE the gym sooooo much) in a few weeks but not sure if I'll have the time.  I've got 20lb of pregnancy weight to lose and then some extra I'd like to bust off.

If you hate the gym, why go?  Nothing is sustainable if you hate it!

Think of other things you might enjoy instead? Take that baby for walks, swimming, a class? ,an exercise video, scrubbing cars/house, stripping wallpaper?

I agree, there's loads of things to do if you hate the gym. I LOOOVE going to the gym and I seriously miss going. I actually wish I hated going so I would be more interested in doing something else.  :-\\\\

Ok, I had to update since I had my check up with my GP last week and I lost 2st8lbs in 4 weeks. GP says I'm healthy and to keep up the good work. Things have slowed down and so far since then I've lost another 4 lbs all through changing the way I eat and counting calories. I have another checkup at the end of this month and hopefully another 2-3 st will be gone.

I dont hate going to the gym but dont love it either but I do enjoy going to the gym more than I hate it though if that makes sense.  ;)  :)

Unfortunately I need to go to the gym (as much as I hate it) in order to persist in actually working out/exercising.  Aside from some organized sports or sight-seeing, I really hate anything resembling exercise and will just find an excuse not to do it.  If nothing else, I convince myself that I HAVE to go in order to get my money's worth (even though our local gym is only £25/month).  DH's friend is a personal trainer and we start kickboxing soon...along with a few other "fun" activities to keep me moving.

Now that I'm mobile, I've been taking DD to the park and running around the garden with her.  It's not much...but it's burning more calories than I have been in the past few months.  I started walking yesterday (about 3 miles) and will continue every day unless the weather is too much of a nightmare (like today...hopefully it will clear up for a little while later so I can squeeze the walk in).

Congrats on your success so far, WebyJ. Don't worry if you don't lose 2 or 3 stone by the end of the month, that's a huge goal! Just keep up the good work and make sure you are getting enough to eat or you will run out of energy to chase after your little one.  ;)

I should be looking after myself right now. I keep thinking I should be eating fruit and drinking lots of water and trying to make myself well. But somehow, feeling poorly has had the opposite effect and I've just been eating junk.  :-\\\\ :-[ How can I motivate myself to do better? Also, we are really trying to scrimp on our weekly budget and I'm having a hard time coming up with healthy meals that are cheap. Any suggestions? I don't want to keep eating frozen fish and chips, but it's so important to save money right now...  :-X

Jewlz, I don't have any advice, but I can really relate with the comfort eating when feeling poorly. And then pain means you definitley don't want to exercise.  It's really crap. Its really awful- be kind to yourself- after your painful draining yesterday, you deserve to wallow in pity for a bit more!!!

As for healthy eating on a budget- beans are your friend!  Eating veggies and fruit that are local and in season will save loads of money.  Frozen veggies are great- cheap and good for you (provided you have a freezer bigger then 3 inches).  Try making your own bread and pizza dough.   Pasta and rice are pretty cheap.  Eat vegetarian several times a week (both good for the waistline and the wallet!).   Buy things that are on offer and freeze for later.  Shop with what's on sale and not with what you want (if that makes sense).  I hear you on the saving money thing- thank goodness for double club card points, as vouchers have gotten me through the ends of the last few months.
