So based on this thread I ordered the 30 day shred workout and tried it today. I watched it first to see what the workouts were like, and they didn't look too bad, but wow, I'm feeling it now!

I didn't want to wash my hair post-workout because that would require lifting my arms above my head. ;) My legs don't really feel tired, so I guess I should step that up tomorrow, but so far, so good!

Well I'm on Day 1 of my diet...again.  We'll see how it goes this time around.  Still waiting for my 'Biggest Loser' exercise video (that has 6 different workouts...hopefully that will keep me from getting bored) and some kind of dance exercise video thingy.  Feeling ill today and super duper tired so the exercise part will have to wait for a few days.

Opinion requested from those who have the 30 day shred:

Do you think it's worth it (the price?)...I've not looked into it but I hear wonderful things about it and am considering trying it, but I really don't want to spend a lot on it and then not use it...or does someone have one and not like it and want to sell it cheap?

It looks like they're on sale on amazon right now for £6.47

I saw that...my husband decided to get it for me as a surprise off eBay.co.uk and he got it for £7.50 w/free p&p.

I just ordered it off of amazon. I didn't get to the gym any of the days I had school this last week (though that was mostly 'cause I wanted to go swimming and the pool kept being closed so I need to reset my expectation to go to the gym part of the gym) and I'm hoping I'll be interested in doing this instead.

Do I need weights?

Yes, I think they recommend 1-5lb weights. I have 3lb, 5lb, and 10lb weights and have yet to touch the 10lb ones. ;) A couple of exercises I finish up with no weights at all, but the rest I do at 3/5lb weights.

I picked up my weights for £20 from Argos (they had ones for £10 but were sold out).

I just acquired it as well, does anyone know how effective it is without weights? I want something I can do in my hotel room when I'm away with work, as the hotel I've moved to doesn't have the amazing David Lloyd gym my last hotel had.

You could probably do some of the exercises with resistance bands rather than weights, but some of them would be better with weights, and I don't know how effective they'd be without them.

Perhaps look into a pilates-type DVD for when you're on the road?

Oooh baby, lost 3 lbs this week  :)

And I just ordered some zumba DVDs, because I like Latin music (obviously, playing in a salsa band) and because I can modify latin dancing to suit my achy/breaky/body needs

Congrats PB!

I'm celebrating day 4 of working out. ;) It's easy on the weekend when you don't have an entire day blocked out, but today I got up early and did my workout before I headed out. I'm so glad I did, because now I feel like I've done something, and it's only 9am.

Now to make sure I do it the rest of the week, too.

Thanks- Well done on the workout before 9am. I wish I had that kind of motivation to move my body before work!
