Well, it's not been a great couple of days. But, I'm still down a bit, I think, from the holidays (about 2.5 pounds) and I still feel motivated to keep trying, so all is not lost! I am thinking I will try some bigger salads (with quinoa or cous cous, probably) to keep me going through lunch time, rather than veggie sandwiches and soup. I'm going to try to up the protein with some beans, lentils, or chicken or something. Maybe I can manage to make a big, bulky lunch that is still lower calorie, so that I full fuller and more satisfied. I may look into Slimming World meetings, as I think that would keep me motivated and maybe be a nice way to meet some people, too.  :)

The past week has been difficult for me too. I was supposed to arrive back in the UK on Tuesday at 7am/Get to Notts for a 1pm meeting.  But 3 flight cancellations, a 6 hour drive to CLT airport, an overnight hotel stay, 3 problems with planes (two that needed extended repairs), two times de-boarding the planes, and then a 3 hour delay while the plane was repaired meant that I haven't arrived into the UK until Thursday afternoon.

Having been ''in limbo'' for what seemed like a long time, I do not want to even think about all of the food I have put into my body (ie: two full days of restaurant food).  I did try to stick to ''healthier'' options, like having french onion soup from panera, and the buffalitos (chicken tacos) from buffalo wild wings...but I'm 100% sure the Pineapple Chicken at the airport wasn't a great choice..

Also, after going so religiously for a two week period while visiting my parents, and not having been since Sunday, sort of ruins my ''habit'' of going.  And to make matters worse, DB's mum had to be hospitalized and have surgery on wednesday, so I'm with them now, helping to take care of the house/look after DB's 10 year old brother. We won't be back into Notts until Sunday night, so I could try to hit the gym then, but I still have to unpack all my things...  I hate when travel messes up your entire schedule/plans :(  I always find getting back into routines difficult.  Wish me luck!  :-\\\\

Yikes!!! What a mess!!! Don't be so hard on yourself, that's all stressful stuff!

Plus the sooner I get my weight down and where I want to be then we can kick up the kid making agenda.  I just want to be down a bit before getting preggo so it wont be twice as hard. Start healthy and stay healthy is my motto

This is what I did.  I lost 45lbs before getting preggo and I felt much better during this pregnancy than my first one.

I've done really well this week.  I did meal planning and I've stuck to it.  I've been tracking my calories and staying below 1400 (sometimes struggling to meet my minimum of 1200).  My stomach has definitely shrunk and I find myself eating half of what I used to eat and being full.  The cold is pretty much gone so I'll start exercising on Monday also.  Weigh-in on Tuesday (quite proud of myself for not obsessively weighing myself this week also!).

Yeah I'm struggling too!  The 2-3 pounds that were gone just after Christmas, are back plus about 5 more.  Doesn't help that my mood has been all over the place recently.  :-[

I'm actually doing quite well. I've found a combination of foods that is keeping me full all day long and it's qute low in calories just barely over 1,100...drastic yes, but I never felt hungry.

Last week I lost 3lbs and am below what I weighed before the holidays.

Did you know that Oprah had David Zinczenko on her show last year he does the Eat This Not That books & he is the editor of Men's Health magazine he said that Turkey bacon isn't better than real bacon because of the amount of sodium in it is seriously high so real bacon is better to have instead...

I bought some turkey bacon just to try & just before you posted this - lol!  Anyway, there were only 6 rashers in the pack.  I don't really need the added sodium & I couldn't get over how the turkey bacon doesn't really even change colour when it cooks.  [smiley=bleck.gif]

I've used it up, but I think I'll stick to an occasional rasher of regular bacon if I really want bacon.  :)

I'm having a really hard time meeting my minimum calorie requirements each day...especially when I'm exercising.  I've been eating random fried eggs here and there and also peanut butter toast...to try to add calories but I seem to be hitting around 1,000 and I'd like to stay at a minimum of 1,200.  If I try to eat when I'm not hungry then I end up with a stomach ache so I'm running out of choices here.

I'm eating really small portions for my meals as I can't seem to eat a "regular" full meal so I know this is affecting my calories but I can't force myself to eat when I'm not hungry.  I've even tried throwing in some extra juice and smoothies to drink more calories.

I feel so stupid complaining about not being able to eat enough but as someone with previous "food issues" I'm trying to make sure I'm maintaining a healthy amount of calories while dieting.

Man, I wish I had this problem.  :-[ I feel like I'm constantly hungry, even after I have just eaten. It's bizarre. I eat, I feel full and satisfied. I even eat healthy stuff that is really filling, like today I had a massive quinoa salad that was about 400 calories for lunch (and I had a big breakfast, too!) And then I was hungry again an hour later!  :o I don't understand why my appetite feels so out of control lately. I can't seem to get on track. I think I've decided not to count calories for now, as maybe my mind is making me think I'm starving or something just because I know I'm counting (although I've counted calories plenty of times in the past and lost weight, but I was a smoker then, so I think I just smoked more to kill my appetite). I'm thinking I may just focus only on healthy eating, not really on counting calories. I'll just try to avoid biscuits and crisps and other junk food, and try not to overeat.

What I really need to do is exercise, but I hate doing it.  :-\\\\

Jewlz do you drink enough fluids?  When I first started dieting I was hungry.  All.  The.  Time.  I doubt it was even an hour after eating that I felt like I was starving again (regardless of how big or small my meals where).  Now I make sure to drink enough fluids (I aim for 1 drink every hour from 10-5...that ensures I've got my 8 in...plus I have coffee in the morning and a few small drinks in the evening to add a little extra).  Since being conscientious of how much I'm drinking, I'm not hungry anymore.  You know they say that a lot of times we think we're hungry when we're really thirsty.  Hope that doesn't sound patronizing...just offering a suggestion that's worked for me.

Yikes!!! What a mess!!! Don't be so hard on yourself, that's all stressful stuff!

Thanks for that.  I'm glad to be back (finally), and hope to get back to a good routine after this week (Just found out i DO have to take an exam for the module I took)

 :D

I hope so too!!! :D

Now I make sure to drink enough fluids (I aim for 1 drink every hour from 10-5...that ensures I've got my 8 in...
That's a great point! For some reason it's never clicked for me that I should be drinking one glass of water every hour whilst at work/school. I'll have to bump up my water intake, and maybe I won't feel hungry all the time!

Well, I have a 75cl Evian bottle which I refill, and I've been having about 3 of those daily, plus a few cups of tea and the odd cup of coffee in the morning. I do have super dry skin, though, and tend to get easily dehydrated, so maybe I need more than I think I do. It seems that should be plenty, as I feel I need to pee all the time!  :P But, maybe I could try for more.  :-\\\\

I just wanted to remind everyone that getting enough sleep is crucial to weightloss. I'd not realised how much sleep I was losing until the past 2 weeks I made myself go to bed earlier and I can't tell you how much easier it's been to lose weight. I don't think about food as much because I'm not tired and trying to keep my energy up by consuming calories...So just like you up your water intake try getting more sleep.
