I ended up taking yesterday off trying to let my sore muscles heal.  I snacked a lot (but on healthy things) and I was sure that I had lost some of the progress I made last week.  Then I weighed myself this morning, I lost 4 pounds last week!  I spent about 80 minutes working out and consumed between 1300 - 1700 calories a day.  I did try to watch my salt intake most days, but I wasn't always very good with it.

There are always a few cups of instant coffee or tea at work, real coffee in the morning at home, and two liters of water a day--for me that is a must!  I get seriously dehydrated when I don't drink my two litres and my rosacea will flare up as a result as well.

I was just recently diagnosed with having rosacea an the not drinking enough that's something I didn't know about but makes sense to me now so Thanks Andee for the tip.  ;)  :)  I have to say I haven't been drinking enough water so if I up my water intake maybe my rosacea will calm down as well. ;)  :)  I know when I go to the gym after about 20 mins my face is really red  :-[  ::) it looks like I have been at the gym for hours an not 20 mins lol the only upside to that is people think I have been working really hard & been there a while lol. ::)  :P

I take snacks on walks, especially if it's anything that's going to go over a few hours.  Even if I don't eat them, it's nice to have them if I feel I need something and keeps me from dashing into some place and eating something I shouldn't.

I always keep a snack size baggie with a palm full of raw whole almonds in my purse for in case of emergencies so I don't go an buy something impulsively an blow my diet cause I'm hungry. ;)  :)

I'm not quite as bad, but if I'm really hungry I get very, very quiet and tired. I've been known to miss meals just because I was busy or distracted, and I've not yet managed to figure out something I can eat before exercise, which means on days when I work out in the morning I end up only being able to drink water until about 11.

I've managed to keep the weight off I lost because of the flu--so here's hoping I lose about five pounds more.  Had a riding lesson today and I was PANTING, so I clearly need to up my fitness.

The only thing I can eat right before I go to the gym is a banana if I eat anything else I get a upset tummy & sometimes cramps. if I go to the gym in the morning I usually have to wait about 45 mins before heading to the gym to let my breakfast settle down. ;)  :)

Congrats on your weight loss!!  ;D  [smiley=2thumbsup.gif]

I went to the gym this afternoon after not being for over a week I'm a little sore but nothing to bad might be a different story in the morning though lol. ;)  :)  I was quite proud of myself I did 8.9 miles on the spin bike in 20 min.  ;D  [smiley=2thumbsup.gif]

Being that my B/day was last Thursday I had a Wonderful day & the weekend as well but I put on 3 lbs which I'm ok with my new mini goal will be just to lose to lose what I gained.  ;)  :)  I just have to keep reminding myself that I'm doing a marathon not a sprint so it will take time to lose the weight I want to lose. ;)  :)

How is everyone else doing?

I stopped eating bread (and biscuits, cake and other baked goods) for a week. I've still been eating potatoes and rice and other non-gluten carbs. I've lost a couple of pounds.  :)

I kicked myself off (again) on the couch to 5k program today. This time I'm going to try and actually follow the program for real...before I'd always either 1) decide it was too easy and try and do extra and get overwhelmed 2) get sidetracked with only running 3x/week and end up missing 1-3 of those times. ;)

We'll see...I'm heading to the US for 2 weeks of vacation on Thursday, so I should have no excuse not to follow through for those 2 weeks, at least!

Also not a fan of the title change.

On the plus side, I dragged myself out of bed and out into the (relatively) freezing cold to do day 2 of C25K! :) Only 22 more to go.

Ditto.  It has negative connotations, rather than positive ones.  Emphasizes the extra weight and not the losing of it!

It's because this thread for the shrinkers club was started to say there are (hidden) child and sub boards for the UKY Shrinkers club - (which people need to request access to)-
It's a hidden board so that personal and emotive subjects can be discussed without the whole world seeing.  If you think its an appropriate board for you, just PM vnicepeeps to be added.

Having only realised the shrinkers club board existed myself, instead of this thread, I have obtained access and I would love for it to become a more active board- particularly in regards to support and getting your head around weight loss and maintaining it with a healthy lifestyle.

This thread, as most UKY threads do ,took a life of its own and its not about the Shrinkers Club Child board, but weight (loss/gain/etc) - Anyone can change the name- and I'm sure no one would object if it were changed to something you like better!   :)

I'm confused by the thing of "hidden boards".  Don't really understand how this thread is different or less emotive?  ??? I'm probably being thick as I'm not as computer savvy as many on UK-Y!  :)

How many other hidden boards exist? I mean how are people to join if they don't know they exist  ???

Well that's why this thread existed, to say there was a hidden board and to join up if you wanted-  but as a lot of threads do, it tooks its own life  :)  Believe me, I had no idea the hidden board for UKY Shrinkers existed until last week- because of the life this thread took!  I thought this thread was the Shrinkers Club, when in actuality this was just the thread to say "Hey the Shrinkers Club exists"

There are hidden boards for UKY Heroes and there's another board for Additional Needs Parenting.

If you go all the way back to the very first post made by me, you will see something of the genesis of Shrinkers. You'll also see that post is rather old. Somehow this thread has got active again and way off topic. So the mods are all looking at tidying things up. This thread has been renamed (and I'll put in my 2p that I think it's fine - I like a good pun!). We are in the process of removing access to Shrinkers for people who have not been active in there or on UKY for a while.

I expect there will shortly be a new, locked thread alerting people to the existence of Shrinkers but in the meantime, just PM vnicepeeps for access.

Please remember that all of this is done voluntarily by the mods and Leah so we do our best to get to things when we can!! ;D
When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy’. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life. ~ John Lennon
