I understand the whole Shrinkers Club thing now.  As far as I remember it was never hidden from me, (not sure why) and I had no idea it was supposed to be private and for people with serious weight issues.  I hope I was never insensitive with any of my comments as I don't have serious issues.

Are you sure you really have access? It's a separate board. There are some old threads in there about South Beach Diet, Weight Watchers, etc. Can you see those?

And if you can, I don't recall you posting in them... I'm sure you were never insensitive if you did - or certainly not deliberately so! :-*

No ideas for a non-insensitive title but maybe we could break it into a few different threads so the topics are more specific?  Like have one thread on general weight loss and one on eating healthier and one on exercise tips?  Or something along those lines.

This probably sounds really bad but if I'm trying to lose 30lbs of fat, I don't want advice from a person who's always been thin and never had food issues and just wants to make their calves look more lean.  They are both "issues" but perhaps separating them into more relavent topics will relieve some of the...tension.

Just throwing out some suggestions...

I think that's a good idea.  It's what I was getting at in my post yesterday - and I think people should feel free (as always) to start new discussion threads according to topics of interest, shared goals, etc.

Now if you want this thread renamed again I am open to suggestions.  You have until tomorrow 9 pm EST, then I'll put up a poll and we can vote.

Then I'll lock this one and everyone can have a nice new thread with a new name that satisfies the majority.

Oh!  Name this thread!  ;D  Not seeing too many suggestions so far, but looking back I think that we had one suggestion yesterday:

Shugga suggested - Fighting Fat Club

Me, I'd really like to call it 'Fred' - but how about 'Fitness Matters' - so original, I know!  :D

I love puns. There I said it.

Surely we can come up with something funny!

How about Get the Skinny? Or Weigh to Go?

OK, those are feeble, I know. It's late and my brain isn't functioning properly. Can someone else in another time zone think of anything better?

Just a point... *this* thread does not have to be the whole of UKY fitness! Just like any other board (Chit Chat, Expat Life) you can start any thread about any Fitness related subject that you want. I'd encourage you all to start threads specific to the subject you want to discuss or us poor mods will end up cutting and splitting them anyway! ;D

Yes, sorry if I wasn't supposed to post in there. I'm sure I am the one who revived that thread and tried to recruit people to join in.  :-\\\\ I didn't realise it was specific to people with more serious issues. I certainly never meant to offend anyone, if I ever have.

Jewlz, you just posted on the introductory thread in Fitness asking what the heck was going on with Shrinkers. You didn't actually post within the child board. That introductory thread then took on a life of it's own and that's now the long and twisted thread that what we have today. You didn't do anything wrong or offensive!  :)

You weren't insensitive either Jewlz.  So if I could see 'Shrinker's Club', then I was seeing a hidden thread?  'Cause I definitely could see it.  I want to see *all* the hidden threads!  :)

It's not just specific to people with serious issues! It's for anyone to join up- and I'd like people to join in, makes it much more fun!!!

Read the intro for Shrinkers...anyone can join.... it's just not searchable from what I understand.  So it offers a bit more privacy.

PM me and come on in...take a look, revive the place or if you don't like it you can ask to leave!

Polls up for three days!

If you go to the main UKY forum menu (http://talk.uk-yankee.com/) and look at the UKY Fitness listing you either will or won't see 'Child Board - Shrinkers' underneath it. If you see it and click on it, that will take you to the whole of the Shrinkers threads. I suspect you *don't* have access. I think you just saw *this* thread, which has now been renamed.
