That's just wrong - mushy peas should not be made using frozen peas!

Heston Blumenthal is never wrong.  ;)

Do I want to know what nettle soup is?

Heh heh,
It's alright, sort of like watercress soup.
It's made from stinging nettles, but from like the smaller/younger leaves.

I had nettle soup for the very first time today!  DH made it for lunch & I was a bit - what is THIS?!  But it was good.  I've had watercress soup before and didn't like it at all, so I was pleasantly surprised!  He said it would be good for my cold, because nettles are high in Vitamin C, I guess.

Nettle soup is lovely! I also really like nettle tea! And I made some nettle tincture last year, too!

He is when he's talking about mushy peas with a Yorkshireman!  ;D

Rumour has it they were invented at Fecci's fish & chip shop in Pembrokeshire (my relatives)! However, I'm fairly sure they use marrowfat as well.

As weird as it sounds, I think I might like to give it a try...but where would you get the nettles to make it with? (assuming I have to wait and try it when I'm back in the UK)

Anywhere! They grow all over the place!

But don't do it too late in the season - you want young fresh nettle leaves.

...you want young fresh nettle leaves.

DH had apparently been waiting especially to make nettle soup until the nettles were just right - young and fresh.  He got them down the same lane where we pick blackberries in the autumn.  I'm hoping that will mean there are fewer stinging nettles come blackberry season this year!
