Salmon Filets
« on: May 04, 2009, 05:47:14 PM »
OK, I have two gorgeous Salmon Filets and some pesto to put on it.  What's the best way to cook these?

Do I have options?  Would ideally like it to be as healthy as I can have it, but still tasty.

Thank you in advance.

I would just pop the pesto on top and bung them in the oven...

Temp?  How long?

(I need the details, I really don't know :-[)

Thank you!

200-ish for 20-25 mins.

ETA: Sometimes I wrap them in foil. Keeps them nice & moist.

I do that with pesto.  I usually soak them in white wine and lemon juice for about 30 mins beforehand and then I put them in the oven for the same amount of time.  Sometimes, I put them under the grill for a few mintues at the end to get them toasty.

Just so you know I meant the same amount of time that Chary does hers for and the same temperature too.   :D

I figured, thank you!  No wine, but I will get it for next time.  I need to have Salmon at least once a week.

Yum!

There are lots of easy things you can just dump on salmon and cook it the same way! Try a jar of sweet chilli sauce. Or any of those jars of sauce really. Or just plain white wine and lemon slices.

Salmon is so good!  I forget how much I love it when I'm here. (The husband does not eat fish)

You could blend the pesto with some bread to make a pesto crumb with some seasoning and maybe some lemon juice, then pack it on the fish then oven roast for about 25 minutes:)

Pesto breadcrumbs are yum or mix the pesto with some low fat cream cheese to add as a topping :)

Blend, blend, hmmm, oh that's what you do with the big blue blender I have collecting dust!!! LOL!

Cream Cheese, YUMMMMM!!!!

I need to print this all out and try everything.

I remembered that my parents just do the Salmon on the Foreman or the B-B-Q plain and it's still really good.  But I like it with a little somethin'.

Thank you!!!

If you need more salmon ideas for the future, try fishcakes. I know nothing about cooking and that's something even I've never screwed up.
And if you threw a party
Invited everyone you knew
You would see the biggest gift would be from me
And the card attached would say
"Thank you for being a friend!"
