Taco Bell doesn't make very good Mexican food, but they make great Taco Bell. I'm in!

LOL! Agreed! And it's cheap and tasty after a night of drinking ;)

Absolutely.  I don't like regular Mexican food very much, but I do love me some Taco Bell! Especially chalupas!

Ugh.  I know I sound like an old fuddy-duddy, but not *another* American fast-food chain opening up in the UK!  I think they are all hideous.  Sorry.

I remember walking by the old Taco Bell back in the nineties and then it was gone..

Which was great because it's complete shite, but then I don't do fast food.

Yucky! I make better mexican food than Taco Bell! There is one in my hometown and I went there once, in the late eighties. Never again.

Thats one thing the states can keep! I am surprised that so many people like it!
 :)

I can not be the only person who feels this way, but I didn't even like it (or ever really eat it!) until I came to the UK, and now I crave it all. the. time! It's the weirdest thing.

Yeap!!!

I liked taco bell every once in a blue moon in the states, especially after a night of boozing, but blech, don't think I'd enjoy it here at all.

If Taco Bell keeps it's open til 3AM deal in the UK, I could see myself going to it in the wee hours if I was hungry.

Then again, it's not like we'll get one in Lincoln!

I would love Taco Bell forever if they came to the UK. It's a great guilty pleasure thing for me--I love 'real' Mexican food but sometimes I crave a 99 cent taco or a chicken fiesta burrito :) I'm hoping to get Steve to try it while he's here but he doesn't like regular Mexican food let alone some from a drive thru.

And I'm starving right now, so Taco Bell is really tempting  :-[

That article is from November, and nothing seems to have happened.

BTW, we had Taco Bell here once before.  It was gross.  REally, really, REALLY disgusting.  They folded.  If they are ever going to come back they will have to be very different.

There isn't enough booze in the world to convince me to eat that stuff.

I might take advantage of Taco Bell if they had late-night hours, but I'm way more excited about Chipotle.

I'd only worry they'd try to change it a bit to suit English tastes.
So you would expect the Curry Gordita made with Donner meat & salsa?

Corrections will be welcome, as I'm wondering if I'm going crazy, but, wasn't there already a Taco Bell in central London in the mid-1980's? This article seems to say it's only just being launched as a franchise in the UK, but I seem to remember one years ago -- help me out if I'm just losing my mind!  :D

I could have sworn I was walking through somewhere like Charing Cross or Shaftesbury Avenue, and there was a Taco Bell complete with the mission-building shape around the bell logo. At that time I hadn't yet set foot in the US but the place stood out to me and I didn't forget it; when I wound up in Texas of course they were all over the place!

If I was dreaming, then that's freaky, lol.

Vicky said up earlier in the thread that there was Taco Bell in the Uk once upon a time and it went out of business. :)

I remember reading something along those lines too.
