Question about text messaging
« on: May 20, 2009, 10:08:25 PM »
Can you send a text message from your computer in the US?

Ive tried the 10 digit number and the phone company but it didn't work.

Example:

xxxxxxxxxxx@att.com

IF you have Skype credit, you can set up Skype to do text messaging. It's .099 to text UK numbers.

If you have US version of AOL or yahoo instant messenger, you can text a US cell phone from it for free.  (It charges normal txt rate to whoever u send it to, so if they have unlimited, it's free, etc) :)

You can also send a txt to an email address. Just change the entry mode on the phone when you would normally type a number.

I didn't know Yahoo did it, but I used to text people from AIM all the time. I wish it would work with non-US numbers!
