Also...etsy?!

I know you don't  have long left, but if you found a London seamstress, you might be able to get something made, or order something off the peg, have it rushed to London and get someone local to fit it to you, and sell the other dress on ebay :D

Don't worry Vicky, we'll find a way to make you a gorgeous bride :)

http://www.etsy.com/search_results.php?search_type=handmade&search_query=medieval+wedding+dress

For instance, you could get a skirt like this made
http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=16090816&ref=sr_gallery_10&&ga_search_query=medieval+wedding+dress&ga_search_type=handmade&ga_page=2&includes[]=tags&includes[]=title
and get an off the peg corset locally, get the corset first, then get the skirt in a colour to match,  you know it will fit as teh corset is the most important bit :D

Vicky,

What a huge disappointment and horror for you! I don't have any suggestions as I can't point you in the right direction, but I can pass you a virtual drink that you need!

I hope a solution comes soon since you're really under a huge time constraint now! Hang in there!

What colour green are you looking for? I have one that's pea soup green with gold trim, its velvet, which you're more than welcome to borrow. Though chances are, you'll need to make lots of alterations because I'm quite fat.  But maybe it would work, as its nice and stretchy but huggy too.

Somebody call the calvary?

I vote for a plain but full skirt, and a corset with embroidery and trapunto in a design of her choice.  That way her daughter or granddaughter can wear it....  In silk of course, dupioni silk. Or leather. Cool. PVC. One of my year 11s did a punk style dress in red vinyl. It was beautiful.

Lots of silk is easy to get in London. Berwick street. A corset will be about 1.5 meters, with some to spare. For bows! £25 or less.

The corset can lace up the back. or close with a busk in the front. Now the only question is the style: victorian or 18th century? Tabs or no tabs?? Straps. Off the shoulder or spaghetti?
No wait, that's more than one question. [smiley=idea2.gif]

Can you tell I am frustrated with Year 7 tie-dye drawstring bags??????

Never fear, Vicky, we'll get you to the church on time!

You people really are great!  I can't imagine any better rallying round, even from my non-virtual friends.  Thank you so much, you have all made today so much better than it could have been!

Right, now, I am off to Fairy Gothmother, with a credit card!  I'll keep you all posted.

Good luck, Vicky!  I'm sure you'll find something gorgeous.

I couldn't find an outfit, no.  But I have some plans which definitely involve corsets.  I tried one on and it was fabulous, but I couldn't wear it as an outergarment for church wedding, the priest (and my mother) would have a fit!
