Expat Status
« on: June 04, 2009, 05:12:18 AM »
Hi All

I have been browsing the boards but can't seem to find it so I apologize if I have missed it....

I was wondering, is there a special tax for expats on assignment in the UK? If there is, does anyone know the Tax rate?

thanks so much

That can depend on your immigration status.

The UK abolished the special 50% and 25% foreign earnings deduction way back on 17 March 1998.  Other countries such as Holland, Belgium & Spain still have special deductions for expats (inpats actually).

The only reliefs left in the UK are the R/NOR relief and non-dom status.
