Yael, go back to the GP... 
Its hard to stand up for yourself medically- so I've now learned to write down everything I want to say before I go in there so that I can clearly explain myself. Even when I feel like they're not listening, I just hand them the piece of paper.  It gets better results when I do it, because otherwise, I feel like I'm not articulating to them enough.

I'm sorry you're going through this

Good for you! That's excellent advice for when a person is feeling overwhelmed about their condition AND coupled with the fact that the GP isn't listening
