Technical problems with http://www.visa4uk.fco.gov.uk???
« on: June 13, 2009, 04:49:59 PM »
Is anyone else having problems logging in, or starting a new application, on the visa4uk site?

I can't do either thing today.

I just tried it and it says there is a problem...specifically

There has been a problem saving your Application Security details. Please try again, ensuring the details entered are in the required format.

I also checked the UKBA site and the Home Office site and there aren't any announcements saying that the site is not functioning...sorry not to have any answers.

When I made my application for my spousal visa a week ago Friday, it was being temperamental about accepting my payment for the application. Basically, it said that my payment *might* have gone through, but there was a chance it didn't so I should wait 30 minutes to see if I got a confirmation that my payment was received, and if not to try again, and if that did not work, to call the consulate directly to make arrangements for payment (since you can't get your biometrics until your payment has gone through).  Thankfully I got my payment to go through, but they are aware of the problem, even if they'd fixed it.

Also, when filling out my e-app, there were certain boxes that although I filled them in, could not get them to appear in the final thing to print out for the life of me, so I'll have to write that info in by hand.  :-\\\\

Sorry I don't have any answers either, but there do seem to be a lot of gremlins in their system lately. :(

This is a known issue here on the board. Usually this happens with the question regarding the sponsors savings. It's happened repeatedly going back to at least March 08 when I did my application.

Yep, it was that exact one.

Really annoying that it's been broken THAT long. . . and of course with such an important question too.

Yup, I got that exact same thing--I was a little puzzled at first, but then I remembered reading about it on here with other people who had the exact same thing. So I just wrote in my information and made a note of it in my letter.

I'm getting an error message when I try to log in to my existing application (don't know if anyone else who has an existing app is experiencing this as well). I put in my information and try to log in and it says an error has occurred and that a site admin will be notified, then it asks me what I was doing when I tried to log in. I'll keep trying later though  :-\\\\
