Download was just over 2 weeks ago and Metallica wasn't there. DH & I really wanted to go but when you've got a toddler it's impossible. So we just stayed home and watched the live feeds from the main stage streaming on the Download website. It would have been so easy for us to go as well, Castle Donnington & Donnington Park is just about 10 miles away :(.

Aw, sorry WebyJ. DH really wanted to go. I told him he could go without me. :P But tickets were too expensive!
Finally living with my Husband in London after 6 1/2 years together but apart... and loving my life!

Thanks, I'll keep it in mind for next year. Though I would love to see the Doves, I think one festival for this summer is enough for a novice like me! :)

I've just been to Glasto.  It was my third, and Dan's tenth.  We are both 32.

The thing about watching it on telly is that you only see the main stages, and it is a bit daunting.  But once you are there is is completely different, you don't have to stick to the main stages, you don't even have to see bands if you don't want to, you can do comedy tents, cabaret and circus, go to the Greenfields and the Park and just chill around.  In three days I only saw 9 bands this year, and didn't go to any of the headlners on the Pyramid stage. We had a great time!
