Same with Bombay mix! I used to always buy it in RI!

I tried to find it at my local Indian store, but they had something called Behl (Bhel?) that was sort of the same, but you have to make it yourself. I also found a pre=packaged kind, but it wasn't the same pieces inside. Sort of had the same flavor. Just not actual Bombay mix that I got in Tooting this summer, though.

Bhel is a type of snack dish that you put together and serve with a chutney.  Bhel mix can be bought in a bag as a snack too, but it's not the same.  There are a ton of different snack mixes like Bombay mix, so it's really just trying a few to find one that you like.

The Indian shop I used to go to had several different kinds, and one of them was pretty similar to the Bombay mix we get here (but had a different name). Sorry yours isn't the same!

For British cheese lovers...

If you're ever in the mood for a splurge, Zingerman's carries Neal's Yard Dairy cheeses.  Not a huge selection, and the selection varies, but SO worth it.

If anyone's ever been to Neal's Yard Dairy, you know what I'm talking about! :D

Definitely cheese! Strong mature cheddar, Wensleydale with cranberries, double Gloucester with chives...there were so many great cheeses mixed with different fruits & herbs - loved it! I also can't believe how cheap it was for red Leicester at the local shops but if I order it online it's a fortune!

What else?
Alpen
Cheese & onion pasties
Cadbury Fruit & Nut
Proper curry - even the ready meals at Sainsbury were lovely
Fish & chips - the ones here make me cry!
Hula Hoops
Prawn crackers
Phenomenal fresh veg - we used to get a box delivery from Riverford's!
OXO cubes (obviously an ingredient, not a meal itself  ;) )
Robinson's squash
Mr. Kipling exceedingly good cakes!

I know there's more but I just can't think right now...

The more I read this thread, the luckier I feel to be living in the Houston area because so many things I can get fairly easy. Not cheap unfortunately but anything imported isn't going to be...especially imported from a country with a much stronger currency. But I can even get a lot of the things at my local Kroger (even stilton with cranberries!) and I live in a small-ish town outside of Houston. And we recently discovered an Indian restaurant in Houston that we love. :)

But there are still a LOT of things I wish I could get easily but can't, like:
Clotted cream
Pear cider (I can get regular cider easily)
Bacon butties

Melissa, look for Woodchuck pear cider - that's what I always drank in the US before I moved over and found out that perry is widely available over here!  I bought it at Kroger, rather than anywhere fancy. :)

double Gloucester with chives

I found some Double Gloucester with Onion and Chives at Smiths/Kroger last year (in their international cheese section) - but it was expensive though... about $6 or $7 for a chunk compared with about £1.50 in my local Tesco here!

On a similar note, DW asked me what I thought I would miss if we moved over.

I said it would probably be something I'd never consider and just miss because I couldn't get, in the same way that it is for some of hers.

But I reckoned butcher's pork pies (not the supermarket, mass-produced, rubbish) and real ale would be top of the list. I like the US microbrews and that would probably be fine 99% of the time but I know I'd want an English pint and a pork pie!
Oh and fish and chips with mushy peas!

Do you want a good recipe?

I do! I made it last year for Bonfire Night and mine was awful!
