FLR(M) financial bit
« on: July 07, 2004, 09:09:28 AM »
Hi all, we just about have our FLR application ready to go but we are wondering what others have provided for financial history. We've lived together over 2 years now and have the paperwork to show that. The issue is that I am in transition from funded student to looking for work. It is obvious from my bank statements that I don't have a lot left. The DF has regular income but i'ts not huge. In other words, we don't have much savings at all. Should I be worried? If we show bank statements, should they be the most recent or should they be those 6 month summaries you get?

Any thoughts would be appreciated!

Thanks!
When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy’. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life. ~ John Lennon

I chose to not include our bank statements..mainly cause I thought our lack of savings wouldn't look good...I included statement from my DF's work about his income..which isnt very high..and included qualifications I have for work and information I found about income for the type of work I will be looking for.

I had no problem getting my visa with the above information

I'm working on the same application and had the same questions. I've been told that proof of spouse's employment is enough if it's coupled with your CV, letters of recomendation, etc. proving that you're capable of getting work.

Hi, thanks for your info. I think a letter of recommendation is a good idea. I already have some offers of work but it's on a casual basis (guest lecturing and such) and not even proper part time - though I'm working on that.

Ack!  :P

One more quesiton on this FLR(M) thingy. I know a few of you out there have had applications and passports go AWOL. What do people suggest for getting the app to the HO? Special Delivery post? Fed Ex? Courier? Hand deliver? ???
