Finding the best CD & money market rates
« on: July 07, 2004, 09:24:05 PM »
Hi All,

Can anyone recommend a good (and free) website which monitors which UK banks are currently offering the best CD and money market deposit rates?

Thanks,

Sun King

CD?   ???

I was thinking the same thing, Broxi!

They don't really have CD's or money markets here Sun King.  If they do, that's not what they're called!  Best of luck!

Try this:
http://www.ukpersonal.hsbc.co.uk/hsbc/personal_banking/savings-accounts

I *loved* HSBC - and they have money markets, tax saving type accounts and foreign currency accounts.

I still dont know what a CD is, apart from the music kind, but you'll find that all UK banks will have some sort of investment-type accounts.
The ones they sell at the bank i work for (RBS) are called 'Fixed Rate Bonds', and you invest a set amount of money for a set length of time.
I assume that's roughly what you're looking for...   All banks will have their own version of it.
