UP: (not really) Today is my birthday.

IA: It doesn't feel like it, DH is working till lord knows when tonight and has been gone since before 6 this morning, I just really hate today aside from DH not being here.

UP: My parents sent me a birthday card & present.

IA: The present was that they paid a tax bill for me from 2006, aparently I miscalculated my state tax I back in 2007 and NOW the FTB decides to notify me...thank you so very much.  >:( I appreciate what my parents did and it wasn't a large amount, but I'm sick and tired of being taken care of...I took care of my own finances for my entire adult life up until 3 years ago when I moved to the UK and I've been dependent on my husband (and now my parents without even knowing it) ever since.

How can I ask them to be joint sponsor so we can move back to the US now? 'Oh hi mom, irresponsible stupid me, holding my hand out and asking for help...again'...lovely.

IA: It was so cold out earlier today I had to wear my winter coat. Gah!
UP: My winter coat was loose on me this morning as opposed to last time I wore it last winter when it was getting too snug!
Let them eat cupcakes!

Officially Britishly since August 2013

Noooo! Don't feel like that, especially not on your birthday. You're lovely, and I'm sure your parents will be happy to sponsor you if it means seeing you and their granddaughter more often. Be happy and have a happy birthday!  :-*

UP: I talked myself down from buying some peanut M&Ms. I even had them in my hand, but put them back.

IA: I'd really love some peanut M&Ms.  :-\\\\

UP: (not really) Today is my birthday.

Happy Birthday! Sorry it's not a great one :(

Funny, the IRS finally decided to mail something to me as well (and my husband got an email from them saying his application was refused ???)

IA: I ordered a set of Egyptian Cotton sheets about a month ago and they were back ordered (but I didn't find this out until I chased them) so I ordered another set 2 weeks ago thinking if the others show up I can always return them.  They still haven't been dispatched so it's been a month I've been waiting for my new sheets.

Up: I found another set that I like better and are much cheaper and they are being delivered tomorrow.  Plus, the company says they'll give me my 10% discount even though I forgot to add it when I placed my order.

IA: My computer is finally on it's way out and we could really do without buying a new one.

Up: My computer is finally on it's way out and I'm getting my first EVER new computer on Monday!

I know that feeling all to well myself I couldn't tell you how many times I have done that myself but when I was with Dh an did it I put them back an I got a smile from Dh which was much much sweeter than those peanut M&M's would have ever been.  ;)  :)

IA: It was so cold out earlier today I had to wear my winter coat. Gah!

That such a great feeling isn't it?  ;)  :)  my winter coat I got nearly 2 1/2 years ago that I love I tried it on yesterday I absolutely swim in it but its such a beautiful & extremely warm coat I hate to give it up an get a new coat.  ::)  :P

IA: Aunt flow was in town this week grrr.  >:(  ::)

UP: I had my dietitians apt this morning an even though Aunt Flow was in town I still lost 5lbs Yeah!!  ;D  [smiley=2thumbsup.gif]

UP: So rather than a permanent position, my current company wants to extend my contract for 2 months (and then possibly still offer a permanent position when the timing/budget works better). I'd rather do contracting for now, anyway, so that's nice.

IA: They still want me to shlep to Cambridge, which is the major PITA of my current role. :( I'm undecided as to what to do now.

UP:  The sun was out this morning (I wasn't expecting a sunny day today).  So, I put the washing out to dry.

IA:  It started raining less than 5 minutes after I put the washing out.  So, I brought it all back in.

UP:  The sun came back out less than 5 minutes after I brought the washing back in!

I'm leaving it inside.  Glad the sun's out though!  Oh, wait--it's not sunny anymore.  :-\\\\

UP: My interview went well today, I think.

IA: I don't think I'd like the job long-term (and it's a permanent role), so I'm leaning towards not accepting any offer they might make. Which stresses me out, because I hate conflict/saying no to things. (And, of course, the recruiter's going all salesmanship-y and trying to get me to conditionally accept an offer now so that he can give immediate - positive - feedback to his clients.)

There are worse problems to have, though, I'm sure.

Well done- and remember, you were interviewing as much as they were, so don't feel obligated.  They wouldn't feel bad at not offering you the job.   :)

This is true! I think I could do a good job there, and possibly enjoy it, but I also think I'd potentially get burnt out pretty quickly. So at least if I say no, I save them the recruiter's commission and the hassle of my giving notice in 6 months. ;)

IA: Working to fix this bug, and I see a lot of really crappily written code (not written by me, thankfully), and it annoys me.

UP: Only 1 more week of working with these particular people on this particular crappy code. ;) (I'm not holding my breath that there won't be badly written code at my next job.)
