UP: The trip to London yesterday went smoothly, DD (age 2) travelled well as she usually does, I was able to have some sushi :) which I've missed the past 4 years! and we arrived safely back home.

IA: The woman who did DH's medical exam for his US Visa was a complete b!tch. She belittled him for smoking and having the occaisional drink (we only have a drink once a month) and told him he had poor eyesight (he couldn't read the very bottom line of the eyechart) and said he'd be lucky if the US let him in with those problems. WTF? Is it like no one else who smoked and had the occasional drink with a bit of aging eyes (DH is 41 ya know) have NEVER received a US Visa? I wanted to slap the woman and now she's got DH so worked up that he believes he's failed the Medical and we won't get the visa. DH said it was like being taken to the headmasters office for doing something wrong.

Stupid Cow. Keep your personal opinion to yourself & quit judging people or I'll knock you off that high horse of yours. We're definately going to make a formal complaint once this process is over.

Glad everything went smoothly except for the stupid doctor. I'm glad you're filing a formal complaint.

Madness!

The medical is surely just to prove you don't have major infectious illnesses!

IA: I called in sick today and have been feeling rather unprepared for tomorrow (my second day of non-music teaching).

UP: The class teacher (whose class I take on Fridays now, and who is also the music co-ordiinator) called me. The headteacher forgot to cancel my after school choir, so she took them for me, AND planned something for literacy for me, including smart board slides. She even talked me through the maths lesson I planned and gave me an idea for an extension activity.
Finally living with my Husband in London after 6 1/2 years together but apart... and loving my life!

Yay, that's very nice of her! :)

Glad things looked up PL.

That's what I thought too -- but I think alarms would go off if DH attempted it with his kidney problems.
But yeah -- smoking and drinking? And eyesight? Ridiculous!

I really like my new job, but I have so much to do, it's really enough for two jobs! The department is short-staffed and one person just handed in her notice because it's too much stress for her to handle. I'm handling it well so far, and it's great to be working, but it's weird to go home knowing that there is soooo much left to be done. I don't feel like I will ever have time to do it all!  :-\\\\

Be grateful, Jewlz. Sounds like they really need and appreciate you.

Aww Jewlz, those situations are so tough. But I'm sure you'll be fantastic at this job and it will all be fine  :-*

Jewlz - hope the job continues to go all right and you stay (relatively) stress-free. On the plus side, at least 1) you're not doing busywork 2) you have a great opportunity to knock the socks off these people, which is always a good thing. :)

Mine...

IA: Think I'm catching the nasty head/chest cold that was going around my office (mostly because people would come in and hack all day rather than just staying home - I'm looking at you, boss's boss!!)

UP: At least it's the weekend, and aside from flat-seeing, I have no plans, so I may bond with my couch, my blanket, my cat, and some books this weekend. And I'm a permanent employee, so I can stay home sick if I get to the near-death stage (the guy who sits next to me looked like that today, and he was out yesterday, so I really wish he'd stayed home, too).

IA: Jet lagged and up and wide awake at 3:38 a.m.

UP: I'm home and my boy gave me a beee-yoo-tiful watch for my birthday.  And he even wrapped it and included a sparkly pink card!  Plus, apparently I'm a spoiled brat and he ordered me another gift which will be here on Tuesday.

IA: I think Tuesday's gift may be the Juicy Couture earrings my mom got me for my birthday.  He eyed them today and said- "are those new? hmmm" and looked sorta sad.

UP: His birthday is next week and I am chomping at the bit to give him his pressies because I did so well.  (I think!)  Plus thanksgiving is just around the corner and I can't wait to see my British and American friends!

Thanks for the support Ladies. DH is feeling much better about it now and realises that he was pretty much being abused by this woman because she didn't approve. I've been looking into how to file a complaint and we'll take it further once we have the visa.

But she really was being a cow about it.
