IA: The woman who did DH's medical exam for his US Visa was a complete b!tch. She belittled him for smoking and having the occaisional drink (we only have a drink once a month) and told him he had poor eyesight (he couldn't read the very bottom line of the eyechart) and said he'd be lucky if the US let him in with those problems. WTF? Is it like no one else who smoked and had the occasional drink with a bit of aging eyes (DH is 41 ya know) have NEVER received a US Visa? I wanted to slap the woman and now she's got DH so worked up that he believes he's failed the Medical and we won't get the visa. DH said it was like being taken to the headmasters office for doing something wrong.

Stupid Cow. Keep your personal opinion to yourself & quit judging people or I'll knock you off that high horse of yours. We're definately going to make a formal complaint once this process is over.

She sounds a bit like the US embassy doctor who did both the blood tests for my US visas in 2007 and 2009 (I had the same doctor for both visas). She was really judgemental about the fact that I had a DUI and kept lecturing me on how stupid it was to drink and drive... believe me, I know it was stupid, you don't have to tell me that - it was something I swore I would never do and I still don't quite know how it happened... at the end of the day, I just made a stupid mistake (I very rarely drink anyway, even now, I don't think I've actually had any alcohol in at least the last 2 weeks). Thankfully, though, I shouldn't have to have a blood test for my next visa because it's now been more that 3 years since it happened.

IA: A cat who spends ten minutes trying to move you over so he can find a spot between you and dh under the covers.

UP: A cat who likes to sleep under the covers with you and is purring like there's no tomorrow and better than a hot water bottle. ;D

That sounds exactly like our female cat she loves sleeping under the blanket [smiley=smitten.gif] where our Siamese cant stand being slightly covered let alone being completely under the blanket. ::)

My kitty likes climbing under the blankets, but he rarely stays for more than a minute. (He never stays most places for that long, he's pretty ADD.)

UPs: The flat (actually a house) is super nice looking, and the 2 women already moving in seem really nice. (They also loved on my dog, so yay, perhaps that'll be a mark in my favour ;))

IAs: It's unfurnished (not a huge deal, sounds like I'd only need bedroom stuff, and possibly not even that). It's also largely carpeted, and with animals I've gotten quite spoiled by not having carpeting (though a cleaner 2x/month would take care of that). Also, I saw it with one other girl (there are 2 rooms available), and there are 3+ other people coming to look at it. :( Should hear back by Monday.

IA: MIL told me today that she is unable to watch our bunnies while we are in America over the Christmas holidays.

UP: It means that I can board the bunnies with my friend who owns the rabbit rescue. So long as the dates are okay (she's checking) she's taking them.

IA: She has to charge me, since it's the busiest season for boarding, and they'll be taking up space that could be used for other boarders.

UP: She is giving me a massive discount, so it will only be £50 for 2 weeks. :) Well worth it for the kind of care and treatment they will get from her! I feel better leaving them with someone who understands how to take care of them better than anyone else I know.

Awwww!  My dearly departed Poochie never slept under the blankets until she got sick with kidney failure.  Then one day she figured out how to get under there (she must have been cold with not feeling well  :( .) From then on she was always getting under the covers with or without us!  What a little heat generator she was.  [smiley=smitten.gif]

UP: Met up with a friend for lunch and he latched onto the idea of going shopping for clothes (for me).

IA: I hate clothes shopping, and even though we found a couple of cute things, I don't think I need them (or want to spend quite so much money on them), so I get to return them now.

UP: DH put up our wardrobe last night. We've had it for weeks, but had to clear the space first. It didn't look like we even had room for him to set it up and put it up/turn it round, but we managed it.

IA: It took until midnight and now I am exhausted. I went to sleep on the couch before 11, but had to wake up for injection, so it was not a very restful night's sleep. I'm exhausted.

UP-It is not raining today!  It made the walk to school much nicer.
IA-It is quite cold out there though.

IA: Maxwell flung a mouse at me yesterday morning! (Maxwell's Flying Circus?)

UP: He caught it! (I had to dispose of it with the dustpan and brush though)  :D

IA:  I finally broke down and accepted a mobile phone into my life about a month ago.  I've been called twice - one time was for a "Mrs Busby" not me.  I've also had a whole string of text messages inviting "me" (Mrs Busby?) to meet for drinks, come to parties, etc - all in Essex (where I don't live).  Even after I replied to the texts saying it's a wrong number they keep coming.  After the latest invitation I got reminders because apparently I'd RSVP'd that I was attending?

UP:  Mrs Busby (if indeed that's who it is) seems to have a much busier social calendar than my own.  If whoever is phoning me doesn't figure it out pretty soon, I may just attend Nichola's Pre-Christmas party in Leigh on Sea!  ;D

IA-I've been waiting on a parcel from Debenhams.  When I returned from the school run this morning I had a card through the letter box saying that the parcel was near my electric box  ???
I searched all over the garden (even looking in the wheelie bins) and no parcel.  They are MrRed5's jeans for a Christmas present.  He is in desperate need of a new pair of jeans.  Trust me, I could care less about clothes so if I say his current jeans are bad they really are!
UP-After receiving no joy from trying to contact Hermes (the delievery company) I called Debenhams and explained the situation.  They refunded my money and I immediately ordered a new pair of jeans-to be delivered to the store this time.

They may be in the electric box, usually at the side of the house and it is opened with a special key.

The key usually looks like the yellow one here, IME:

IA: Two missed parcels slips and one package by the back door. Rescheduled delivery for two missing parcels slips fr next Friday, but one may be the package by the back door! Aaaagh!

UP: It may mean Christmas shopping is over soon.......

UP: We're almost in our new place. Deposit will be dropped off tomorrow. As soon as the final work is done(minor repairs, re-wiring, etc) we can move in.

IA: DH, in his eternal "realism"(I say pesimisim) said, "Well, don't forget, the landlords may decide to raise the rent to £500, and we might have to move out." (it's £465 now)

UP: To which DH followed up with-"But, Penny(our letting agent) said that she tries to talk her landlords into keeping the rents low, by telling them that them losing 2 months rent when tenants move out, and it has to get re-let again is worse than having less rent from tenants" or something along those lines. WHY does he have to do stuff like that? Why can't he just say the good stuff first, and then the bad stuff?! And then he wonders why I get all sulky and stuff. JEEZ!!! Sugar!  :-X
