No - only Tin will do for me!  :)
Ring the bells that still can ring
Forget your perfect offering
There is a crack, a crack in everything
That's how the light gets in...

They may be in the electric box, usually at the side of the house and it is opened with a special key.

You are a star MLG!  The parcel WAS in the box-I feel like a total idiot now.   [smiley=dunce.gif]
I've contacted Debenhams and told them to cancel the refund.

Saw the flat today....

UPs: Room is nice and big, kitchen's nice and big (and has dishwasher), garden has a cat flap in the door which my kitty would appreciate, bathroom's big/new.

IAs: 2 rooms upstairs are still being renovated/finished, so there were people wandering in and out while I was there (though they didn't appear to be doing anything). The guy I met who's lived there for years said that this renovation started back in April and was meant to last 3 months, and still isn't done. (And there's more work planned for next April.) Depending on what the landlord decides to do (apparently he changes his mind a lot), he may rent out all the rooms, which would leave no sitting room area.

So...I'm torn. On the one hand, it's cheap, has the amenities I want (eat-in kitchen, large room, dishwasher, park nearby for the dog). On the other hand, the sitting room may be nixed, and who knows when builders/random people will be done with all their work.

Sigh.

IA: Had to do some minor (non permanent) modifications in home plumbing to get my dishwasher hooked up and took me a few weeks to make it to all the different shops to get the parts I needed

UP: I successfully was able to do my own plumbing work. Go me, DIY girl. Hahaha  :)

IA: I finally got the dishwasher going and I was all excited! And then only 5 minutes into running it conked out and just got stuck in a cycle without bringing any water into the inlet. So I questioned my plumbing ability after all.

UP: Called Comet (from whom I bought it from) and it's not my plumbing ability- it's the dishwasher apparently has a flow valve that is stuck or something.  They're sending an engineer out to look at it for me and replace the part.

IA: I have to wait until next Monday, be home waiting in my 2 hour slot and I have another week of doing dishes by hand.  :-\\\\

I've never gotten food on my underpants!

Today marks 1 year of living with MS. (While knowing that's what it is anyway.) My feelings are so mixed that I can't really even separate my thoughts. It's a relief to know what it is, and it's hard to know what it is at the same time. The name of the disease has a very bad connotation. But for me, it's just become part of my life and the words don't mean anything anymore. It's just the name that I can give to the problems I have been suffering with for years.

I often get down when I am feeling tired or achey, or when I get home from work and just collapse on the couch and know that I can't do anything else, even around the kitchen, for the rest of the day. But at the same time, if I felt like that pre-diagnosis I would think "God, why am I so lazy? Look at all the things other people do when they get home from work." And would push myself too hard. I have learned a lot about listening to my body as a direct result of my diagnosis, and it has made a big difference in my life and how I view myself.

I've always known that my DH is supportive and wonderful, and different from anyone I've ever known. But after my diagnosis he really jumped into action. He helps me up the stairs when I'm tired; he always jumps in and reminds me when I'm expecting too much of my body; he tells me to lay down after work when I've had a particularly rough day, making and bringing me dinner in bed; he does my injection half the time and decided to not use the auto-inject anymore (watched video training to do this) because he thought it might hurt me a bit less... I certainly never forget how lucky I am to have him.

Not to mention, if I was still living in the USA, I would be living without a diagnosis and without treatment. I have gone 15 months without a relapse. Without my free medication that is delivered to my door every month, that Americans with MS pay thousands of dollars for every months, I would have a much different life.

Thus ends my rambly post.
Finally living with my Husband in London after 6 1/2 years together but apart... and loving my life!

One...
IA: Landlord wants to come by tomorrow to "inspect" the flat. (This after previously saying she wouldn't be able to come until next weekend at the earliest.)

UP: I was planning on cleaning a bit tomorrow morning anyway, so at least I can just clean once, get it looked over, and be done. (I hope.)

Two…
UP: I got paid! Wasn't expecting that until Tuesday.

IA: They paid into the wrong bank account, so now I have to juggle money around. (But I got paid, woo!)

IA: Up all night long with a very poorly child...called the GP this morning and went through all the questions from the practice nurse and they've said that it's most likely a virus and to keep her indoors and warm...but that if she gets worse then to call them back and they'll send a health visitor or a doctor to the flat to check her over...why not do that now???

UP: she's asleep on the couch at the moment and I'm going to hop in the shower for a few minutes and make another pot of coffee, see if I can feel human again...I have the feeling I'm going to need it.

IA: Being unemployed so money is still tight.

UP: I get to watch a lot of classic films on Channel 4.  Currently watching The African Queen and clicking on amazon black Friday sale items.  We'll see if I actually get anything.

IA: Spent 90 minutes (of a 60 minute lunch) running around trying to find very basic things (pie tin, rolling pin). Failed miserably (unless you count the option to pay £120 for a pie tin at John Lewis, which I don't).

UP: At least since I arrived back at work so late (and still hadn't eaten, so took time to do that), it's almost the end of the work day?
