Enjoy what time you have left!!  ;D  [smiley=2thumbsup.gif]

Dh was the same way he was like I hope the cats are alright I said I'm sure they fine they are in good hands with Karen. ;)  :) what makes me chuckle about that is Dh never had a pet period before the cats came here in Feb 2005  ;)  :D  We had a cat sitter as well our cats know her really well she comes over every Friday for a visit so they are well used to her. an love they it when she watches them cause she seriously spoils them big time!! I swear I think both cats have put some weight since we were gone we were only gone 2 weeks. when we got back to our house in the UK the cats for 4 days straight never left either of us for anything even now they still stick pretty close to either of us not as bad as when we first got home though. Both our cats are very social to Adults & older teenagers but when it comes to kids they run & hide lol.

My husband wasn't a cat person either before he met me, so it's funny to see him so interested in the updates from the sitter!

UPs: Saw another flat today, and I really liked it. Good space (not huge, but decent), big garden, nice looking street, and still walking distance to my new job.
The landlord (live-in) was really happy to meet my dog, and mentioned wanting to live with a dog again.

IAs: Had to go see it 2x because the first time they didn't hear me ring the doorbell/knock, and I'd forgotten my phone, so I had to go home to get it and call them.
The landlord's a bit concerned about my dog shedding everywhere (though I countered that with offering to chip in on the cost of a cleaner, so hopefully that won't be an issue).
No dishwasher :( (though the landlord wants to add one, just not sure when that'd happen)
Room isn't available until late January. (Which is only an IA in that I want to be rid of my Landlord From Hell asap.)
Have to wait to find out if she wants me to live there.

Think happy thoughts/cross your fingers for me, please.

And...she decided no. I don't know why I'm surprised anymore, really. :(

Guess it's time to start phoning about empty flats and hope that I can find a decent 1br cheap, or find a bigger place that other people can join me in a flatshare.

Sorry EN!  I hate crappy living situations.  :(

CB- I was on Delta JFK to SFO and the internet wasn't quite fast enough to watch any videos online.  It was okay though I just facebooked and refreshed email until my battery ran out.  ;)

IA: Spent half the morning in A&E as my dh thought he broke his hand by falling on the stairs and we have to go back tomorrow to let the swelling go down for further checks.

UP: My dh thanking me for coming with him as he said I kept him laughing and smiling the whole time we were there.

Thanks, guys. :) I'm really getting disheartened by this. Granted, now my search parameters have gotten a bit tighter as my current flat does have the advantage of being walking distance to work, so it'd be nice to keep that perk. Still, I'm not ruling out other places (seeing a place in Clapham Common on Saturday)...it'd just be nice if people wouldn't claim to be pro-pet and then change their minds.

LE - Hope your DH turns out to be okay!

equestrianerd - sorry about the flat :( something will come up

LE hope hubby's ok.

My ia: none of my pre-pregnancy clothes fit.

Up: they are all too big!

Up: managed to get an appointment at the embassy for my son's birth registration for the first week in jan.

Ia: no idea how we are going to pay for it...

SW - yay! He's two weeks on, two weeks off, right? So you get to keep him through Christmas?

EN - bah! I used to move a lot and have nothing but sympathy for flat-hunting.

LE - ouch! Did they at least give him nice painkillers in the meantime?

Mine:
IA - Libby (the grey kitty) chewed one of the bulbs off of the lights on the Christmas tree so now 1/3rd of the strand is just dead.

UP - Now I'm glad I couldn't find another strand of lights to put on the tree (in addition to the ones we had) because she'd just chew through those as well.

IA - I couldn't find any candy canes to hang on my tree.

UP - I found a set of really cute fake ones (half off!) so now I don't have to feel bad when I throw 11 candy canes away come February.

Not sure if the regular WH Smith's has them, but I saw them at the Smiths in the airport the other day.  Not that you'd want to journey there just for that!  :P

I didn't think to look in WH Smith. I like the idea of candy canes a lot more than actually having to eat them so I think the plastic ones are perfect  :D

I looked in 3 different supermarkets for candy canes the other day for chocolate/peppermint cookies. Never found them, but I now know which peppermints are possible to crush (Mentos, if anyone's curious..Fox and the other brand I got were like cement!). If I make another batch I'll have to check WH Smith.

I tried that last year for Alton Brown's chocolate pepermint swirl cookies. I almost broke my hammer! I don't remember what brand mints they were but it was insane.

Got an e-mail from a guy I dated back in the spring (after almost no contact since May) inviting me over on Saturday to play board games. I said I have plans then, but Sunday could work. Now he's all excited about it, which is fine, but a little weird after so long.

Not even sure what part is IA and what part is UP in this one. One definite IA is that he decided it's at his place...which is fine, his place is nicer, but that means I have to trek to south London twice this weekend and I'm already tired/cold.
