IA: DS had a terrible day at work yesterday serving a crabby old lady who even made him model a too small shirt so she could see what it would look like on her grandson!

UP: He managed not to lose his rag even though he had to kowtow to this woman for over an hour  :D

UP: I found a place to live!!!!!! :D :D :D :D :D It's not ideal, but ideal basically means adding a dishwasher (which is rare, so not a big deal) and being walking distance to work (also rare, and the commute won't be too bad).

IA: Need to tell my evil landlord, who will throw a shitfit, I'm sure. Also need to book a cleaning service to clean once I'm all moved out. Already pre-paid for one through a voucher, but they're booked through January 31, so that's really not helpful. :(

I have to give 30 days' notice. And the minute I do, she's going to want to show the place to people, which means she's going to freak out about the "state of the flat" some more. Which I might actually care about if walking across the living room didn't tire me out. :(

I'm planning on moving the weekend of Jan 8-9, I hope. So here's hoping everything will be settled by then and my life can be angst-free once again.

Yay! I've been following the crazy landlord story and I am SO pleased for you! One of the best Christmas gifts you can have! Also hope you feel better soon. ;D

IA: Having to buy a gift for a vp I work for and can’t stand because I can’t accept something without giving something in return.

UP: He spelled Christmas wrong on the card he gave me!  I always knew I was smarter than him!

Thanks, guys! This is definitely a relief. :) It'll be nice to live in a quiet, calm place, with a (hopefully) sane person. She mentioned both of my boys' names in her e-mail (and she only met the dog in person, heard the cat's name maybe twice), so here's hoping that's a good sign.

What a great Christmas gift E!!!  I'm glad you are getting out of there.  You sounded really unhappy.

IA: Went to the shops to get a rotisserie chicken ...No Chickens today as they're closing early and don't want to clean the rotisserie  ::).

UP: I was able to get a fresh chicken at 1/2 off because everything was reduced to get rid of it and ended up spending less than I would have getting the Rotisserie chicken Plus it's a BIG one, so I see Chicken Pie for Boxing Day!!!f

IA: Had to get wrapping paper at Wilko's because we don't have enough to do everything, and DD kept trying to pull all the toys off the shelves.

UP: Wrapping paper 1/2 off and I got a few more bits for DD's stocking at 75% off.

IA: I just rang all of my close family members and I got a lot of voice mail!  :(

IA: It's going to be very hard for me to call them tomorrow for Christmas, since I will have a ton of things to do and have company over. I'm feeling sad and depressed now that I didn't get to talk to all of them and I know they wont call me!

UP: I was able to speak to my granpa though!  :D

IA: I am feeling very sad now. He was telling me how he is missing granny (She passed away last January  :\\\'() and how his health is getting worse.

IA My new job is a little dressier than the old pairs of jeans and game t-shirts that I wore at my last place which is kinda difficult as I'm rapidly dropping sizes and my wardrobe is a bit all over the place.
Nothing from my really old job at the bank fits anymore (too huge and I got rid of most of it) and I don't have much suitable from the intervening years.

UP Lots of cheap clothes in the sale at the moment which will do as a stop gap.

IA Bought a great pair of grey wool trousers from ASOS which were delivered today in a smaller size but they need to be returned...

UP because they're totally huge! They literally fell off me so I need to return them for an even smaller size (maybe two!) :)
