Oh today. Today has been a doozy.

This morning:
IA: Check I deposited Monday hasn't appeared in my account. Rang bank call centre, they can't find it.
UP: Decided to pop into the branch myself, they sorted it in less than 5 minutes.

IA: Car broke on way to ride (anti-roll drop link it turns out)
UP: I love horse people. Someone crawled under the car with me to confirm that yes, it was broken. Someone else took off the wheel and the broken bit and told me where to get the part (and offered to fix it tomorrow!), and there were plenty of people around to distract me by talking about horses.

IA: of course, that means that I have to get it fixed tomorrow, and Pete goes to Singapore for a week so less time with him.
UP: at least it will be fixed.

UP: Had a really nice work party last night, full of free Pimm's, wine and beer. Not to mention it was at Somerset House!  :)

IA: The company has said that they're not doing a Christmas party so the summer party was it for the year.

Sounds brilliant!!!  I'd rather that my workplace did a summer party instead of the winter do.  Our 'Christmas' party is always in January (cheaper) so they call it the New Year's Ball...except it's at the end of January on a Saturday night.  ::)

I went the first two years, but haven't gone since.  Just can't be bothered to get off the sofa & out of my PJs (away from DH) on a cold, dark winter's night to go & party with people I can barely tolerate during the week anyway.  :P :)

It was nicer than the Christmas party, but that's because they always have the party in the middle of the week. Last year's was on a Monday and they provide free alcohol all night. It's just silly, as they expect people to still come into work the next day. Thankfully, they did this one on a Friday. What stinks is that due to the nature of our industry, we work really hard up to Christmas as that's our big selling time. So we want to celebrate. Plus our party was always themed and fancy dress. Most people spent months making their costumes and coming up with some brilliant stuff. I'm going to miss that!

I can see how you wouldn't like yours if the co-workers aren't great and if you have to go out of your way to get to it on a Saturday night. A summer party would be much better for Yorkshire!

UP: Had a really nice ride today, and didn't get rained on. :)

IA: Left my jacket at the barn so I'll have to remember to look for/fetch it next time.

UP: Finally remembered to write a thank-you card for BF's mum since she gave us loads of things and watched my dog for a couple of days.

IA: BF corrected my iphone-induced bad grammar when I sent him the text for proofing. :P

UP: At least BF knows the correct grammar to use!

IA: He apparently doesn't know me well enough to know that I do, too. ;) (Bad grammar/spelling is one of my pet peeves.)

UP:  Weather finally decided to play nice with my laundry plans!  8)

IA:  Spent all day working on a stupid spreadsheet (I hate spreadsheets, but it was a necessary evil) regarding our upcoming walking holiday & its multiplicity of overnight arrangements, & reconfirming said arrangements & notifying them all of the baggage carrier service we have employed.  So we have one reference sheet showing each day, how many miles, from where to where, what the meal plans are for each day, where the cashpoints are or are not located, balances due, on & on & on.  Now I'm going to go have a glass of strong cider before I stick something sharp in my eyes to avoid having to look at this spreadsheet again today.  [smiley=dizzy2.gif]

Got dh to book a hotel for us at our holiday destination, but he is still dragging his feet over flights.  Worse than that, he said, 'Oh look, we can cancel the reservation up to the day before!'  I may never go on holiday again!   ::)

UP: DH told me dinner tonight was like something you'd get in a restaurant.

IA: The house stinks like salmon, even though I had the windows open while I was cooking.

UP: Got a call back about a temp data entry job that I applied for only this morning!

IA: My phone is with the BF, so I didn't actually get the call.  The lady told him she would e-mail me the number so I could call her from the landline.  I hope she actually does!  :-\\\\

Congrats!

UP: Surgery went well, and was about as easy as could be expected (mandatory stay in the ward long after I was clearly awake/coherent/functioning normally aside).

IA: My throat hurts a ton, even with pain meds, and I want to rip it out.
