Glad to hear that you have something to help your throat EN, but sorry to hear it was infected!

UP: I got my overtime and a little extra from taking on more hours through the summer for the last two weeks of this month.

IA: The money is already spent.

UP: It's spent on our 5 year anniversary holiday next month!!

UP: It can all go to the holiday because between dh's grandma and my mom and dad, he got more than enough 'birthday money'  to cover the money that went out to buy dh birthday presents (his birthday was yesterday).  We may end this month still in the black rather than on the line or in the red like we thought!  YAY!!!

UP: My throat has downgraded from hot stabbing poker pain to sore/swollen pain!

IA: I'm sneezing/blowing my nose today, which 1) hurts the throat 2) probably means I'm catching a cold. Yay. Also, throat pain might re-upgrade (hoping not, though).

Cool! Great news! Hope you enjoy your anniversary and your holiday!  ;D

This sounds awful! I really hope you feel better soon.  [smiley=hug.gif]

IA: A work colleague is on holiday for 2 weeks and we are already slammed with stuff to do, so now I will have her job plus mine plus extra. Yikes!  :-X

UP: Not unexpected, but at least 22 July is coming closer all the time and I'll be off for at least 5 weeks... OMG, I can't freakin' wait!!!!  ;D ;D

Thanks! I think I've turned a corner, though. Still a little sniffly, but no cold, and my throat feels like the tail end of a normal cold, rather than the massive pain I was in before. And I have my voice back. :) So all in all, very much improved.

UP: The exhibition opening I went to last night was great.  I was a bit nervous about it, mostly about meeting super-academic types, but I had a really nice time and the subject of the exhibition is right up my alley.

IA:  It totally made me want to get back into my research, since it was semi-related, and I just don't have the resources for that at the moment.  :-\\\\

IA: DS walked in last night just as we were nodding off in front of the telly amidst the usual piles of paper, shoes, cat toys, clean laundry, etc -- with a new girl friend.

UP: He has a new girl friend!!  :D

IA: Was going to meet with a family member for dinner tonight, but she bailed at the last minute.

UP: Didn't have to spend dinnertime listening to her talk about herself :P, and thanks to takeaway, still had yummy curry at home.

UP:  Lovely meal out last night at our neighbourhood Italian for my birthday with DH.  I blew my calories/fat/carbs probably for a whole entire year by getting a starter portion of fettucine alfredo (I love it and/or carbonara but usually never order it because it's ye olde 'heart attack on a plate' but it was my birthday!), then chicken parmesan.  Plus we had some wine, and I had some ice cream for dessert.  DH had scallops mornay, steak Diane, and a liqueur coffee.

IA:  DH seems to have developed a food intolerance to scallops, because the last several times he's eaten them - he always gets sick in the night afterwards.  Poor thing.  He doesn't want to go off them because he truly likes them, but I told him he really should stop tempting fate unless he really likes vomiting or something.   :-\\\\  Hopefully, it doesn't end up being all bivalves because he loves mussels too.  Me, I can take them all or leave them, usually leave them, but I don't get sick.
