But its OK to have 'bad foods' on your birthday and that sounds divine Mrs R! But your poor hubby  :(

IA: So we were supposed to play a gig outside the local theatre - but it was pissing down hard.  So we were moved inside to the restaurant area.  Except that there was a professional snooker thing on in the big theatre.  And it was something like £30 a ticket for that. And the cinema was going. And apparently the theatre or the cinema sceens aren't sound proof.  So we played two songs and they cancelled us playing!!! >:(  Needless to say we were angry!!!

UP: Got to sit and have a few drinks with my band mates. Plus the band was getting £200 for this gig - So £100/song!  :)

IA: I forgot to get the pork chops out of the freezer this morning, so looks like we'll be eating at 10pm tonight.  :P I'm still not used to having to get stuff out to thaw.

UP: Having the ability to store meat in the freezer. It's so nice buying things in bulk!

Just put them in a bowl of warm water in the sink, they'll thaw much more quickly. There's also the defrost button on the microwave! ;)

I don't believe it's recommended to thaw with warm water.

Meh, we've not died yet! If we forget to take something out of the freezer we usually stick the package in warm water for about 10-15 minutes, which is enough to soften the meat to a point where we can cut it. As long as it's properly cooked the chances of food poisoning are still pretty slim. Then again, I reheat rice, so maybe I just like living on the edge! :P

IA:  DH seems to have developed a food intolerance to scallops, because the last several times he's eaten them - he always gets sick in the night afterwards.  Poor thing.  He doesn't want to go off them because he truly likes them, but I told him he really should stop tempting fate unless he really likes vomiting or something.   :-\\\\  Hopefully, it doesn't end up being all bivalves because he loves mussels too.  Me, I can take them all or leave them, usually leave them, but I don't get sick.
Ooh, he should be very careful. My aunt developed an allergy to all shellfish in middle age, to the point where she has to ask what things are cooked with.

Glad your birthday dinner was good otherwise  ;D

You aren't supposed to reheat rice?

Thanks, I put them in the sink and run water over them, but they were really thick and they took awhile. I don't like to defrost meat in the microwave because it inevitably will cook a bit while in there.

Oh, and I'm a rice-reheater too!  :P

UP: Got my scan done, hope to get some definitive/helpful results next week.

UP: Didn't have to wait more than 2 minutes to be seen.

IA: She couldn't do the full scan right away because my bladder wasn't full enough...

IA: ...so I got to sit around drinking water for 45 minutes.

IA: I now have a film of ultrasound gel all over my torso, even after using several paper towels to get it off.

UP: At least I'm home and can grab a shower!

IA: Terrible weather, just been pouring and pouring all day- Was pretty terrible for the Diabetes Walk today.

UP: It's stopped raining and left a gorgeous sunset!

UP: The craziest thunderstorms this morning since I moved here. Nothing on an American thunderstorm, but for here, it was super impressive!!!

IA: Thunderstorms were at 4 am, so I didn't sleep well [smiley=sleeping2.gif]

UP: DH found a listing online for the Perfect House! Only down the road from our present house but closer to buses, shops, doctors, etc. 3 beds and 1 1/2 baths on ground floor with 2 more beds and another bath on 1st. Gorgeous huge kitchen/diner/family room. And separate laundry room off that. OK lounge. Master bed has walk-in closet!!! (I started drooling when I saw that  ;))

IA: Assuming we could sell the money pit, it would take all of that -- plus more no  doubt -- to buy it. It's also in a higher council tax range.  >:( :\\\'(
