IA: For the first time in more than 2.5 years I need to iron some clothes. I seriously hate ironing and have always worked at places where I can get away with clothes that don't need to be ironed.

UP: Tomorrow is my first day of work!  ;D

Did you get hit by Irene/are the transit systems up? Hope it isn't a hellish commute! :)

I'm driving/metroing until Wednesday, then my train ticket becomes valid on the 1st. We did get hit, but everything is back to running normally! It's the first day of school around here tomorrow, so I'm sure that will add to the fray.  :-\\\\

IA/UP: Met with another colleague/quasi-boss to discuss work concerns.

UP: He agreed that all my concerns were valid.

IA: He doesn't think he can fix any of them.

UP: He did make me an offer I don't think I can refuse, for a limited amount of extra stress/work on my part.

IA: Woke up yesterday with an epic neck crick. :( Could only move my head about 30 degrees.

UP: Got an appointment in with the sports massage woman, who helped a bit.

IA: Still can only move my head in limited directions/amounts. This will probably make watching horses all weekend a bit of an issue. :(

Thanks, I do feel better! I can at least move my neck almost normally now, though it's still quite stiff.

UP: Had an awesome 2 days watching horses at Burghley. :) Also got to meet Jennie, which was cool!

IA: My hips/knees are so mad at me. I was in tears at the end of today. :( Think I probably walked about 8 miles over the past 2 days, possibly more. Still, my hips should not hurt this much, given that I regularly walk places. May need to see the GP about this.

UP: Had some downtime so I dyed and cut my hair, which was at least a month overdue on the to-do list.

IA: Have to dye my hair more frequently because all my new hairs are growing in a very visible gray :-\\\\ I'm too young for this.

UP: I went shooting for the first time yesterday.  I've never shot a gun in my life and never really planned to, but my brother is a former US Marine, and when he offered to take me, I thought "Why not?".  If anything I would get some quality time with my brother doing something he likes to do.  I think if it had been anyone else, I would have said no, but I trust my brother with my life so I knew it would be fine.  Wasn't even nervous and it was actually quite good fun!  I was also surprisingly good at it.  :P

IA: I was shooting a rifle and, not only that, but my brother said his is one of the most intense kinds to shoot because it has a lot of kick back. Now my shoulder is covered in some weird bruises and is soooooooo incredibly sore.

IA: It's a shame guns are what they are because it's a heck of a lot of fun trying to pick off a clay pigeon.  Must find a way to do it without that whole "lethal weapon" aspect to it.  ;)

UP: I am going to the gym again.

IA: I am going to the gym again.

UP: At my eye exam today, I learned that I am now officially blind enough (complex lens prescription) for the NHS to cover my eye exams & provide a small voucher towards my glasses. (I think this is owing to that I now need reading glasses too, rather than a significant change in my distance prescription.)

That's great news Mrs R. what kind of stuff are you doing at the gym? if your going to the gym for weight loss I cant stress enough to do some weights. I seriously think that's how I lost alot of my weight along with my LO GI diet, & my medication for my PCOS. when I first started going the gym I was doing weights before just not very much more cardio than anything I would say 75% cardio the other 25% was weights. but now its more like 50% weights & 50% cardio. I'm not doing weights for muscle just to up my metabolism ;)  by all means I don't want big muscles. ::)

Shugga, yes that sounds very much like what I'm going to be doing.  To get started (and I am just getting started again), I booked myself in for three sessions with a personal trainer - we had the first one this evening.  He is definitely getting me into doing weights plus things like squats & lunges, alternating with cardio interval training.  I thought he was gonna kill me tonight - I could barely lift my arms & legs without weights afterwards - lol!  :P

UP: Finally booked US (domestic) airfare for Thanksgiving, and got a pretty good deal (I hope).

IA: Not quite the itinerary I wanted, but it'll do. :)

UP: I never have to do that again!
