UP: Going out for a work meal tonight.  Yay free dinner!

IA: The suggestion was the worst possible pub in town.  [smiley=puke.gif] There's loads of good places to eat and they have to take us to the crap one. I have no idea why people enjoy that place!   Tempted to say no, but I can't, as its a requisite part of my job to sometimes

UP: Finally heard back with my MRI results! No arthritis! Yay!

IA: Still have no idea what's causing my pain, and now have to wait to see another consultant for more diagnosis. Boo.

Garden leave sounds like a good UP!

Yeah it is, I wish I had more time with my team though, a couple are taking it quite hard...which is hugely flattering but also very sad.
It's like a really hard break up at the moment, a couple are quite angry with me for "abandoning" them, most are just sad I'm leaving, with more time I think I would have been able to explain it better. ho hum, sometimes a clean break is best for everyone, potentially they're a bit too close to me in retrospect!

IA: I'm not sure what to get BF for his birthday. The only thing I can think of is an iPad2, which is wicked expensive.

UP: At least if I did go for one, I'd inherit his iPad1. Not that I really want/need an iPad, though.

UP: My coworker got a very well deserved, well needed, well earned promotion. I'm so very happy for her.  My boss fought very hard for a year for her to get promoted and had to fight tooth and nail for her to get there. Its great that people in our department are finally getting recongised!!!!

IA:  I've only been in this particular department for a year, so this means I am most likely not getting a promotion this year even though I've done mapping of myself and skills to the next level and my boss agrees but his hands are tied. Sigh.

Ehh, I suppose I'm a turd. I should be happy I even have a job, let alone a good one that pays well with good benefits. Turd.  :-[

Me too, and I just just 'getting to know' you. There is nothing at all wrong with wanting to be recognized for all your hard work and effort. It seems wrong to have someone tell you he sees that you deserve to be promoted but there is nothing that can be done about it.

Thank you Andee and TamaMoo.   :-* :-*

I just suppose I feel bad for whinging about my job when I know so many don't have one.

It just makes me question a lot of things about where I am and where I'm going and all that with my career and its just hard. Just having a rough week.
Ehh, maybe they'll be something positive when I have my 2011 review in a few weeks!

Thanks again!! I always feel better after posting on here.   :-*

UP: The album I sang on that was recorded at Abbey Road is out, with excellent reviews!!!  Whee!!!  Karl Jenkins is amazing.

IA: It's only out in the US at the moment and I can't download it yet off amazon.co.uk yet. Blurgh!!!

UP: Well at least the snippets I hear off amazon sound incredible.
