IA: Locked myself (and my dog) out of my flat this morning. Leaving the cat (unfed), keys (obviously), phone, wallet, etc. in the flat. Blah. Knew it was bound to happen eventually, so hopefully now I've done it and it'll never happen again?

UP: My neighbour is awesome. :) He's watching the pup today for me, and he lent me £10 to pay for the bus and lunch.

IA: The cat is going to be pissed. ;) Especially as I had an alarm set for 10:30 so it's going off for an hour.

Sounds like an incredibly awesome neighbour! :)

Fingers crossed the 'knew it was bound to happen ...' part is over.  ;D Every time I visited my grandparents, I worried that I'd hit the barn as I backed up to turn around when leaving. I worried about this for [/i]20 years[/i]! Mom bought the house and surrounding land with her part of the inheritance, and my aunt bought the barn with part of hers. When I was back 'home' waiting for my visa early in '10, mom and I were headed out one day, and I was driving her truck (2007 Silverado that still looks brand new because she babies it). Backing up, I heard a bit of a thump. Then I said something a bit unladylike... in front of my mommy... We got out to look, and I'd bumped the rain spout. It had a tiny dent and the truck had a smudge of white paint on it that came off with my thumb. Phew! But, the fear had been lifted. I'd done the thing I was terrified would happen, and I haven't worried about it since when backing up there.

The barn was built in 1932, but it was Amish built, and still as sturdy as ever. I always imagined seriously denting whatever I hit it with, so when it was just a smudge and a small dent in the spout, I had to laugh.  ;D

Yeah, he's great. :) Got to work about 40 minutes later than I'd planned, since my neighbour does like to chat a bit ;), but that's okay.

Sounds like you got off easy! I was always paranoid when pulling my horse trailer (empty or not, but obviously more paranoid when not!), but luckily never had anything happen. My mom busted one of its tires running over a curb, though. ;)

IA: It is COLD out there... not Poland cold, but cold.

IA: Remember that car that broke down on me last November?? STILL have not had it back and the guy is still being a jerk and not answering our calls.

UP: I think we will have the situation resolved this weekend so we can finally move on! (Plus, we found a better car at a fantastic deal anyways!)

IA:

It’s a very long story, but the gist of it is there was a rude talker at the movie theatre this evening who had been told multiple times to stop talking and she didn’t. She was sitting behind me, so I eventually said something as well because I didn’t spend $11 to listen to this woman narrate the movie for me or to hear about the details of her life. She yelled at me and told me I was rude and disrespectful. That is what I managed to decipher from within the profane tirade.

So, I went to get a manager and a worker followed me back in so I could show him who was talking. However, there are two entrances to the theatre because it’s stadium style seating, so there are two long-ish dark hallways you can take to get back in. He took one and I took the other and I didn’t realize this until the woman and the daughter emerged from the shadows, backed me into a corner, got in my face and started yelling at me about “learning respect” and when I tried to get away, they grabbed me. Ultimately, the cops and the manager had to be brought in to deal with situation.

UP: In addition to getting our money back, me and my mom got free passes which we will be using on a Sunday morning because that’s when the polite people go to the movies.

Dh went to the store Sat afternoon after work to get a few bits cause he doesn't have to work the next few days Yeah. ;D [smiley=2thumbsup.gif] we live out in the middle of nowhere so we didn't plan on leaving the house till Dh had to go back to work also our area is expected to get alot of snow as well. were having a roast chicken today an what do you think we don't have any of no foil freaking typical. ::)  :P

UP. I went to our neighbors to see if we could borrow some from them I said I would bring back what we didn't use she said to keep it. so I told her son next time we are at the store we would buy them a box to replace it. so nice to have generous, helpful, & polite neighbors. ;D  [smiley=2thumbsup.gif]

Good to have nice neighbours!

Just wondering why you needed foil?  I never use foil when I roast a chicken!

I'm not the cook in our house that's Dh's area. ;)  :) My MIL always uses foil when she does a roast chicken. how do you do a roast an keep your chicken moist if you don't use foil? ???  :)

What a ghastly experience, PlainPearl  :o  Did the women get thrown out? Bad enough when you get loud annoying people on public transport but in a movie theatre, where you've paid good money to enjoy the show, you expect some peace and quiet.
