UP: BF and I have been chatting about engagement and looking at rings, and neither of us have wigged out. :)

IA: No clue when anything might happen, though.

UP: We have decided on summer 2013 for general wedding timeframe, so at least I have a general idea. :)

UP: In theory that means getting engaged sometime this year, in order to give my US friends/relatives enough head's up to make travel plans.

Wow! Awesome. :)

Thanks guys. :) Nothing's official, and knowing BF, he'll be super methodical about things and take ages to plan anything. ;) But that's cool, I was originally thinking he wouldn't consider this step until 2013 sometime, so this is a bonus.

(Based on a couple of comments he's made, I'm guessing Christmas maybe? But who knows. The surprise will be fun either way. :))

Ooh fun stuff EN!!!

UP: I am going on a business trip to the US in a few weeks time!  Going to two opposite ends of the country, Connecticut and California.  However, there just happens to be a long weekend (Memorial Day) weekend in betweem.  So I get to spend the long weekend in Massachusetts with my family. Then I'm flying off to California for the week. I am gonna fly back to Mass and spend the long jubilee bank holiday weekend with my family again.

IA: Have to do lots of work and its going to be stressful, not to mention lots of fun with time zones...   :-\\\\ :-\\\\

UP: Whohoo, free business class trip to see my family!

IA: Have to actually cut my Newcastle holiday weekend a day short to travel and my BF is really not very happy with me. At all.

PB, US travels & business class sound pretty sweet! Sorry you have to cut Newcastle short - I freakin' love The Toon!!! (plus the great folk who are there!)

UP: Our Polish rail tix arrived today! Wheeeee! You'd think we're off on holiday soon or something!

IA: Still full of lurgy - blah. Did make it into work today - an IA in itself, as ever. So lurgy + being at work = extra stinky. :P

Sorta UP: Got a new pair of 'everyday' shoes to wear around. They're just a pair of black Keds type canvas shoes.

IA: When I put them on today, the tongue ripped halfway off, the first time I put them on. Guess they are going back for a trade in.

UP: I was supposed to be waiting around all day for the furniture delivery man, but he turned up just before 11 AM, so now I can go out! :)

IA: He only delivered one of the pieces, so now I have to wait around tomorrow for the other two.  >:(

UP: Today, I was offered a job in Indiana, where I'd be in a management position within a couple months of starting.

IA: It sounds great, but I've already got a job lined up, would get the management position when it came up, and love the owners. I suppose I shouldn't complain after sitting here trying to get a job for 2 1/2 years. I'm checking into the second one to see what the benefits and things are before I decide.

IA: BF and I looked through a couples/relationship book last night that turned out to be waaay religious and preachy, and one of the co-authors (a married couple) sounded like a total prick towards the other (his wife)...and yet they're preaching about a "successful" marriage based on theirs lasting 15+ years (even though in the book they describe being/sounding miserable for at least 9 of them, woo!).

UP: There were 2 pages of stamps stuck inside the book, so at least now we can mail letters in the US for free! ;)

Before you plan your wedding, plan your marriage

We did find one page (out of ~300) non-preachy/silly. Even then, it was about finances, and the questions were pretty basic/non-useful.
