IA: Lost my job on Monday

UP: I had just updated my CV was starting to job search anyways...since Monday have applied to 18 different jobs closer to where I live.

IA: Haven't heard back from a single one yet!...BUT It's only been a few days so I need to practice some patience! Trying not to panick about it as we are so close to Christmas and stuff!  :P

IA: Haven't been able to work for two weeks because of the damage Sandy did to my office. It was massively flooded and took them a while to get the water out. Then it took them a while to get the electricity back up, and it's still only working in half the building and there's no heat apparently. I work remotely from home, so while the heat thing isn't an issue for me the server I need to use is still not working.

UP: They e-mailed me today asking if I wanted to do some work in the office on a new project. It's more pay and I can actually interact with human beings. I'm fairly certain this is the project they've been wanting me to do to get me ready for another job they want to promote me to.

IA: The commute into Manhattan from here is a nightmare right now. It's all very limited since the PATH train was severely damaged and it is therefore mobbed with people every morning and every evening. I'm not looking forward to that bit at all.  :-\\\\

UP:  3 cats came running up to me from 3 different directions all at the same time on my walk home from work!   [smiley=smitten.gif]

IA:  One of our three goldfish was dead in the tank when I got home.  Hubby's pretty sad about it.  :(

I haven't been around much lately, but should be back now! This was because:

IA: I had to take a GCSE math equivalency in order to gain entry into the Overseas Trained Teacher Programme (which I need to become qualified in this country for various reasons). They decided, after I sent in my application with my high school transcripts, that my high school math wasn't good enough. Even though I was advanced, got straight As, took Calculus through the University of Pittsburgh my senior year (and also got an A)... They didn't want to look into it or something. Anyway...

IA #2: They only offer these equivalency tests once a month, so I decided I would rather desperately cram for the test and take it on November 14th than wait until December 14th. I also decided I wasn't wasting money on the prep courses, so it was just me with a revision guide every night for 2 weeks.

UP: I got a 92%! Only 55% was required to pass. So I might have overdone it. ;) But it's finished! Hooray!
Finally living with my Husband in London after 6 1/2 years together but apart... and loving my life!

IA : Have to go for a medical thing tomorrow, they're putting drops in my eyes and I'll be blind for four hours. I didn't really read the letter properly so didn't realise this.

UP : boy was able to get the day off and come with me :)

princesslemons, be careful - next thing they'll be recruiting you as a maths teacher!  Your new career?  ;D

IA: There is some drama between my parents going on atm that resulted in me leaving with my very upset mom from my grandparents' (dad's parents) Thanksgiving right before dinner was served. We went to her sister's house and she slightly calmed down and then went back to my grandparents' later, after my dad went home. The drama doesn't involve the rest of the family, just my parents, and my dad's family is arguably on my mom's side.

UP: At least I didn't overeat this Thanksgiving!

UP: My dresses from ASOS arrived quickly.

IA: One totally doesn't fit (not too annoying as it was my least favourite), and one is completely the wrong item!

UP: They do free returns! :)
